Re: Newfoundland and Labrador Sponsorship Deal
It’s nothing bad on the club - it’s more a political power struggle amongst the residents of Newfoundland
All it means is the club now look for other sponsorship which going off the Q&A’s they were preparing for anyway

Re: Newfoundland and Labrador Sponsorship Deal
Let's just hope they can find another sponsorship deal as lucrative.
Re: Newfoundland and Labrador Sponsorship Deal
It was a bonus really .
It made no sense for Newfoundland taxpayers.
Maybe with the closure of the Market and Forum the Council can fund a Community stadium to house market traders
and a theatre.
We must have billions left in the leveling up fund.

Whats the problem? A good deal was done for us, political changes in Canada and they are using this to rubbish the opposition policy - nothing new there.

IIRC, Shearer mentioned that they approached us first, they got decent exposure for the Chelsea game where an LED advert would have cost a lot. Hay ho, no one move over there, but the weather is still like winter this week (in Labrador)
Hendoblue is there taking a weather report, said he’d be back in Barrow in 5 mins.

I'd set the dogs on them but that breed would just go and lick them!

At the time of the agreement I'm sure the club said they turned down bigger offers !

Re: Newfoundland and Labrador Sponsorship Deal
Had WAF council been sponsoring a Canadian football (soccer) team I'm sure folk over here would have gone mad about wasting tax payers cash. Thanks for the money mind and we move on etc....
Did find it funny they were using it as an opportunity to encourage folk to move over there at the same time Barrow needs people to move here for the shipyard employment.
Re: Newfoundland and Labrador Sponsorship Deal
I think the fact that we are "an underperforming fourth tier English professional soccer team" may well be a factor in the decision.

That's the trouble with Canadians, they're too damn nice.
Underperforming indeed.
