Walking away is not an option for me.
When you get to a certain age and it suddenly dawns on you that you have a lot less years in front of you than what's behind you - it shifts perspective toward valuing quality, peace, and in my particular case deep gratitude towards Mr Hornby, Wilkes etc.
Fair enough, we have gone down, somebody has to, that's the nature of the game and the circumstances of that 'going down' we could argue about and debate until we are blue in the face but, one things for sure, this is our club and we are all proud of it and I for one will support it until it becomes physically impossible for me.
Yes, for sure we will lose a lot from the EFL attendances we became accustomed to at Holker Street, that much is to be expected because those people who choose to stay away do not have the same mindset as most people on this forum. True supporters are dedicated individuals who show unwavering loyalty, supporting their team through both success and failure (Barrow's being the latter noun) and its those very same people who were supporting the club through its darkest days who will keep on supporting the club till once again the sun shines.
I for one am already looking forward to next season and those familiar faces.

Great post, that, Mall, well said. I just hope that as one of the 143 from '73 it never gets so bad that a new record is set and I become one of the 142 from '26. This is the town where I was born and have lived my life and so Barrow will always be my team. I have never really understood supporting a club hundreds of miles away. Sure, I can admire and respect watching, say, a Man City play but they can never be "my" team because I have no natural affiliation with a city a hundred miles away. Only Barrow can ever be my town and my team. It's funny you know, but whereas many fans will disappear as we fall it only works the other way round for me and, just as in '72, I will follow them more strongly the more they struggle. But just because I will always support them (the abstraction that is Barrow AFC the club) that doesn't mean I always respect them (the uninspired team that is Barrow AFC at present) . . . there are too many players in our team this season that I have little or no time for. I know, I know, I see the men in white coats waiting for me outside the front door but Holker Street will have to put up with me for the foreseeable future.

We all support the club, i will be there sat to support the club, the BOD that put their money in, not those players. Thats not entitled, thats reality, the reality is those players gave up, at numerous points in the season and got us relegated

Entitled because they’ve travelled the country watching players earn a combined £2 MILLION + for the season and throwing the toys out the pram for every manager and giving nowt for the club and ruining 50+ years of hard work.

I’ll be telling them what I think and then I’ll be following them around the country again whatever the results

Sad to see Barrow relegated, just like 1972. Buy the programme, I've still got the last league game from 72, v Brentford, worth a few bob now. How times change, look where they're at these days !!!! Good luck for next season, you know how tough The National League is.

As we may be stuck with some of these players in secure contracts next season surely it is unwise to hurl abuse etc not going to encourage them to improve is it?As others have said we support the club and the shirt and whilst the situation is still raw for us all we should turn up and support our owners who have admitted mistakes made and spent a pretty penny finding that out.Am just grateful we still have a club with improved ground to support.Never mind our feelings some staff will lose their jobs as we go down a level.True supporters support the club and shirt despite crap performances in the hope that they improve that is what I shall do .By the way I hope we keep glad all over and sing it plenty of times next season.

Relegation never is but we have got to put this in proportion,no one has died club not folded somehow amongst all the doom and gloom we must find a positive and for me it’s we have a club still and opportunity to put things right because some people hate us and would cheer if we folded.

I for one will still support Barrow because it,s my club and I will be at the Newport match..On my way back from Cambridge yesterday our coach stopped at the same services as the player's coach.I went into the service area to buy a drink and noticed Josh Gordon on his own talking to a couple of the supporters while quite a few of the other players went into the shop and went straight back onto their coach
I made a point of going to him and saying "thank you for the fact that you never stopped trying to create something" and he said,"Isn,t that we are paid to do,keep trying"
I then said"It,s a pity some of the other players don,t have the same attitude as you"I got the impression that he sort of agreed with me by his reaction.
Here is a player who along with Ben Whitfield and probably Sam Foley is a player who is really invested in Barrow and wants us to do well.He may not be the perfect player but you cannot knock him for effort.I just wish we had recruited more players like him,then we wouldn't, be in our current position.
Going forward we have to get players who have a never say die attitude and have a team spirit,something that has been definitely lacking this season.
.We just have to keep the faith our club will survive.

I will definitely be there, I’m a STH so the club already have my money but as usual I guess there will be a dozen of us sat on our table putting our cash over the bar and getting mugged by Russ .

I won’t be booing or shouting abuse at the players but I also won’t be clapping them on or off the pitch.

I can’t really blame people if they don’t turn up but I think it’s important for the owners to see a decent attendance after all they’ve done, and yes they’ve made mistakes but they’re still here.

That’s how I see it anyway.

Very sad way to see the end of the season but we aren’t down yet.

I’d like to see the manager throw everything at Newport on Saturday let’s take them down with us or at least have a good go and who knows what might happen.

I doubt we will the players will be feeling too sorry for themselves and will be just strolling around the pitch, the pre game managers interview if there is one will be doom and gloom stood their with his hands in his pocket with players training in hats and coats

I would like to see a rallying call from the club that we can still stop up and if people want to be part of what could be an historic day then get down to Holker street on Saturday.
