Missing Goalkeepers
So where was Wyll Stanway and Ben Winterbottom today?
Re: Missing Goalkeepers
Winterbottom was left out and Stanway was supposedly injured but the way Foley stated it seemed not in the right place.
Re: Missing Goalkeepers
Winterbottom probably told them where to go if they thought he wasn’t good enough all season when the preferred choice wasn’t performing.

Re: Missing Goalkeepers
Players saying if they want to play or not seems a bit strange
Re: Missing Goalkeepers
Seeing if Barrett is upto being our no1 next season.

Re: Missing Goalkeepers
Didn’t do a lot wrong. That was a horrendous back pass on the first goal and second goal was a great finish.
I’d like to see Barrett as number 2 next season.
An experienced goalkeeper in at number 1 for me.
Stanway and Winterbottom can both leave. Awful.

Re: Missing Goalkeepers
In his post-match interview I thought Foley was very evasive about Stanway and Winterbottom. He just thought Killian had done well in training so decided to go with him.
Don't let the old man in.
Re: Missing Goalkeepers
Think the keeper today did quite well.

Re: Missing Goalkeepers
Barrett did okay I thought, decent kicking and made one good save a block at the back post. not sure you can blame the goal on him but a ridiculous back pass from MacDonald, who for all his experience has been poor for me.
Winterbottom hasn’t had much opportunities with us but I always thought looked decent and shouldve been given a go long ago when Stanway lost form.
As for Stanway best thing is for him to move on, I think whatever happened with Bristol in January seems to have affected him and he completely lost his way. Tough for a young keeper playing in our side he’s been exposed but has just made too many mistakes. Probably cost us 5/6 points although he’s not alone there.

Re: Missing Goalkeepers
Can we get Farman back. We need leaders all over the pitch. He is a leader and would help any young keeper on the books next season.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Re: Missing Goalkeepers
Anyone can fake an injury, from reports it sounds like his heads gone. Seemed to have confidence issues all season, for me, Farman was a massive miss.

Re: Missing Goalkeepers
All having a pop at stanway but he is the last line of defense!
Reality is, we've had the ball in the wrong areas all season and was inevitable that we would concede more than we scored..
Football is about scoring more than the opposition, we couldn't score if we played for two days without a break .!!
As annoyed as I am.. is it really stanways fault?
It really isn't..
That lad has been thrown under a bus bug time and it's not on.. he's made terrific saves to stop embarrassment and huge scorelines..
The season is a right off.. let's not single out one player, especially when there are ten in front of him who deserve more criticism than he does.

Re: Missing Goalkeepers
Although this particular thread is about keepers, I don't think anybody is singling him out alone at all. Not sure where you get that from. 90% of the players on the pitch this season have been disgraceful. You can't deny though, Stanway has been guilty of some howlers that were his and his alone.olbarrafancumbak wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 6:48 pm All having a pop at stanway but he is the last line of defense!
