This man has been thrown under the bus by this board and this group of players! You can see it in his eyes how much this club means to him as this interview goes on, fair play to Adam as he asks the uncomfortable questions that the fans want to know, but Sam isn’t the man to answer these questions!
Sam needs a massive amount of credit for the dedication and loyalty he has shown to the club in his playing career and what he done in a managerial role which you listen to him the club has thrust him into!

Re: Sam Foley
Was the final nail in the coffin announcing him as gaffer and then almost sneakily bringing in Coughlan. Bad decision after bad decision and they’ve let Foley, the model pro for us, front it all and ultimately the man whose took us down. In a season of bad decisions this one has been stinky. And it took away his potential of playing which we needed. Absolute car crash of decision and thrown right under the bus
Re: Sam Foley
And yet the club said at the time it was the “best chance we have of climbing the table”
On one hand we are criticising the club for taking these decisions and on the other hand we are looking to them to reset and take the club forward.?

Re: Sam Foley
Great player Foley for us. From his debut away at Stockport which we won 3-2 to his last appearance, ever?
But, and it honestly pains me to state, absolutely hopeless at picking a team and making tactical substitutions.
Never mind thrown under the bus. Hemmings is most certainly not a league 2 player. He picked that team today and delayed the substitutions, and even they were puzzling and he's been financially rewarded for it.
Do me a favour feeling any sort of sympathy with any of these lot. They're all thousands..yes thousands of pounds better off for today and last Saturdays abysmal showing and none of us should forget that. Ever.

Re: Sam Foley
No reason he couldn't have played if fit enough. Plenty of clubs have had player managers. Think they genuinely - if wrongly - believed that he might be able to pull it off, but I agree that he shouldn't be taking any real blame for the outcome.jeff1966 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 7:39 pm Was the final nail in the coffin announcing him as gaffer and then almost sneakily bringing in Coughlan. Re: Sam Foley
I don't see your point. Although at the time they thought it was the right thing to do, it turned out not to be, as do many things in life.
If you make a mistake you reset and go forward or you might as well throw in the towel and sell up, which would be a pity in view of all they have done.
It's not too long ago we were praising them up to the hilt and now a lot of 'supporters' have turned on them.
How would you feel if that was you?
Re: Sam Foley
Do you really think Sam picked the team? Or was he just the front man as the board was too embarrassed to announce another manager in Graham Coughlan? Graham picked the team, Sam was the front man!

Re: Sam Foley
I honestly think that he did. I could be wrong and you could be right but the club's communication is as pathetic as the teams performances unfortunately.

Re: Sam Foley
Coughlin is already advisor to the club that has had such a disastrous season.
How could he be given the job in view of the position he had in this one - ie part of the problem?
Re: Sam Foley
It was meant to bring unity but was ultimately devisive.
How many times could we get this season wrong ffs.

Re: Sam Foley
Im not making a particular point, Im saying the same as what you have said here. It’s football and it’s ruthless, one minute saviours, next minute shouldering the blame.bluessupporter wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 7:54 pmI don't see your point.

Re: Sam Foley
Snake eyes on the last roll of the cursed dice.
If this is farewell, thank you Sam Foley. Thank you.
You’ve been my favourite player in recent times.
Dedicated, hardworking, professional and a top guy too.
Wishing you and your family the very best for the future.
Re: Sam Foley
Given an impossible task, but it says a lot about his professionalism that he chose to take it on. It should never have come down to him. He was already under enough pressure to return to the playing fold, nevermind standing in the dugout.
He will remain one of the best signings we made in the EFL. If this was his final involvement with Barrow then it's a hell of a shame it went like this.

Popular side since '03.
Re: Sam Foley
If only Sam had been fit to play this season and MJ in more matches would have done a lot better. Good luck to him, been a good servant, hope he finds a coaching role somewhere.
Re: Sam Foley
Same. Has been a great player for us, age catches up on everyone and after a bad injury at 39 it was always going to be hard to come back to this level. That we were possibly reliant on a 39 year oldCokey wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 8:23 pmSnake eyes on the last roll of the cursed dice.

Coming back to save us shows what a bad position we were in.
He should never have been put in the position that he was, another terrible decision in a terrible year.
I dare say he knows certain players could’ve done more and just aren’t up to it but he needed them, and probably didn’t feel that he could just out them. He comes across as caring although a bit shocked and lost for words himself there.
If others had played like he did for us then we’d have been fine good luck to him if he does move on which I suspect he will.
