The Big Time Charlies bottled it big time. In front of a huge crowd too. Such a shame.

Junior Luamba sent off for that reckless challenge.

This goes to show that unfancied teams can go up against the so called big boys and give them a bloody nose.
Pleased for Tom White, a consistent performer in any midfield and a 40 game a season player. We could do well to remember the consistency we need in players this when we go out recruiting in summer.
Whatever Boreham Wood have done, we need to aim to match that. Dont forget they got into the National League via the National South play-offs in 2024/25, so its a great 1st season back for them.
That’ll be the end for Hughes now, they’ll get shut of him.

Even James Phillips acknowledged that Wood were the better footballing side.

Re: Carlisle Derby again next season
End of day these play offs should be scrapped. Rochdale and York far better teams and points prove that so those two should go up

Re: Carlisle Derby again next season
Hughes has been taking them for mugs from day one. He is a multi-millionaire and couldn't care less about Carlisle; you can tell in his interviews he is slightly embarrassed at being in the National League having been a top player and Premier League manager. His complacency is off the scale and it seems to have infected his players.Jonty wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2026 3:23 pm This goes to show that unfancied teams can go up against the so called big boys and give them a bloody nose.

That's gone someway to lifting my relegation gloom.
Chuffed for Tom White as well.
We need to get our act in order now.

To have a manager/coach like borhams who sounds passionate, talked about the drills and different passage of play.. they battered Carlisle even before the red card..
Let's hope we don't have silly kick off times or change the days at shirt notice again like they did previously!

Re: Carlisle Derby again next season
Agree, but it doesn't always happen that two teams are so much better than the rest of the league. That has been the case in recent seasons though. The campaign for Three up / three down would make it a better competition and ease EFL relegation worries. Either that or EFL3 as there are some great established and well run clubs in National league.
The whole issue is the flow down of cash from Premier League and guaranteed SkY money in EFL against a subscription service in National League, along with greater exposure in the EFL.
We’ll find out what the standard is like soon enough, i just hope we out together a good side that can compete at the top end.

Pleased for Tom White. Good news for us financially. Attendance FC visiting, and less scnadenfreude about our demise.
