For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

Since when did they become such juggernauts? They’ve just come out of none league not the premier league
Names don’t matter anymore. Remember, Bromley are a League One side!

All about the money now.

We don’t have a lot so have to be clever with our signings, and please make good use of the loan system! It has been ghastly and cost us recently.
Very good point. Rochdale keeper on loan from City been excellent for them all season

Paul Hornby said in an interview with Adam on Radio Cumbria following the Rochdale friendly last close season that their budget wasn’t far off twice what ours was. No coincidence the top three in this years National league were the three sides with biggest budgets
Well in the EFL the financial fair play came into the equation.

If you are in the National League you can spend what you have got.
When Stockport got promoted to the EFL they had to get rid of players to comply.
Ben Whitfield was one.
This league is going to be very hard to get out of.

Very true Pedro getting back will be very hard, in our 20 Seasons playing at that level we have only ever had 2 top 7 finishes, 7th in 2016/17 and of course 1st in 2019/20.

From next season the National league start to come under the same financial regulator as the EFL full implementation planned for 27/28

We need to get good loan players in too next season. They make all the difference. We have in the past, Ryan Yates, Glenn Murray, Grant Holt, Luca Stephenson to name just some.

Last season’s loan players were absolutely terrible. Josh Gordon, the pick of the bunch, but even he was 4th or 5th choice striker for a team in the same division!

I lost count of the number of opposition sides, who had Premiership or Championship players in on loan, who were real danger men, and made a huge difference in games against us.

Recruitment and contacts really is everything. Especially when you don’t have an unlimited amount of money, so we have to be smart with our signings.

Opens the league next season wide open , absolutely no reason we can’t have a good crack at it.

Let’s forget last season now and get the hype building to next season as we really have a fantastic shot of hunting the top 7 spots.

Next season would be 26 / 27 which is it?
Next season or the season after 27/28?

You missed out Tyler Smith who got the opening goal for Rochdale.

Wow, Tom White! All they need is Pete Wild as manager and they’ll be sorted…

Oh wait… :?
Tom White won't be going anywhere near where Pete Wild is manager.
Not in a million years after what happened at Barrow.

Bluebirds should never have let Booty go, he's a great asset in a good footballing team, which Boreham Wood are.
If Tom White fancies a return, the new management team / BOD should make every effort to sign him up.

I watched a fair portion of the Carlisle v Boreham Wood match and Booty did absolutely nothing. In fact, although he was on the field I don't think he even kicked the ball in the hour I watched. White, on the other hand was the BW playmaker and almost everything went through him. What that tells me is that however awful EFL2 is then the teams at the top of the NL are even worse (although I had thought that was scarcely possible!) because although I would have kept Tom White when we released him there is no way on earth he could play his BW role in EFL2. He has neither the pace or the passing range and in EFL2 terms his strength is purely defensive. And, yes. Booty was useless for us. He was incredibly one footed, had absolutely no pace and was not even quick enough to get into position to hit a pass.

The problem was we never were a “footballing” team last season including the couple of months Booty was here. Him and Tom White were excellent in play off final
