everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it
Re: Retained list
Canavan has had a nightmare but prior he was one of the better players we had. Thanks skipper. Foley too, great as a player, shame he’s now gone after disappointment at the helm, but again, great player. Rest not bothered about tbf

Re: Retained list
Released all make sense but god knows why we’ve extended Stanway’s contract.
Re: Retained list
Should say players under contract/transfer listed
Not really arsed about most of them bar the odd couple. Majority of them gave up, we all know it aswell
Hard part is some will stay and we will have to back them (which we will)

Re: Retained list
Fair do’s. Genuinely thought we’d of been keeping him.

Re: Retained list
Not many complaints, can’t move a lot on due to contracts but maybe would have had Angus McDonald back for a year.
Mentality and ability are two different things, there is a nucleus of a squad who could do something there but who knows what mindset they have and who’s affected by the bad eggs.

Re: Retained list
Genuinely couldn't be happier to never see Connor mahoney in a barrow shirt again
Re: Retained list
Can see a few still under contract being listed/moved on to free up space, released makes sense and if we get money for Stanway can see Barrett or winterbottom stepping up.

But if nobody is stupid enough to bid then we are stuck with him. Fingers crossed there is indeed a buyer out there.

Raglan isn't the quickest so we couldn't have him and Mcdonald who wasn't exactly tearing it up on the pitch!Barrowvianbedlam wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 6:30 pm Not many complaints, can’t move a lot on due to contracts but maybe would have had Angus McDonald back for a year.

I think its unfair Stanway is getting this constant rap for his performnces. His goalkeeping stats are up there with others. It was the collective defensive unit as a team that let us down. You only have to watch game highlights to see the same defensive lapses game after game, not closing down, not tracking, terrible marking, weak trailing leg challenges, lack of tackles higher up the pitch. He faced more shots across the season than any other keeper in the league and his overall save rate was decent.Bigfathoss wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 7:30 pmBut if nobody is stupid enough to bid then we are stuck with him. Murray has inherited a poor squad, he will heed to strengthen in every key outfield area

Re: Retained list
I totally agree. Up until his concussion injury he had been outstanding and I remember Andy Whing saying after the Walsall away game he would struggle to keep him in January. He needs to get away though as sadly with some the die has been cast and he has been made the scapegoat when others were just as culpable. Added to that being a local lad cannot be easy after the season we has had. Sad thing is he probably wants away that badly now the club will inevitably let him go on the cheap.Jonty wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 7:42 pmI think its unfair Stanway is getting this constant rap for his performnces.
