I’m noticing that most of our signings come from Non league; this guy in particular only played at this level in a relegation season and most recently played in the NLS.

Hopefully we get some more EFL experience through the door

Apart from Reid & at a push Crankshaw every signing has been hugely uninspiring hopefully I’m proved wrong.

Barkhuizen, Harper, Earing and plenty more had years of EFL experience and were utter pish. If these lads have the fight and desire in them, it will be miles ahead of anything from last season.

I get where people are coming from, it’s not just non league but players that have mostly been at national league north/south or lower with a few national league players too. I also remember not being overly impressed when the likes of Connor Brown, John Rooney etc arrived though from lowly guiseley and they turned out ok.

Let’s give people a chance before writing them off. The recruitment is more encouraging in that they seem to fit a pattern and a style of play rather than last summers recruits of crocks and rejects.

Barrow have completed the signing of defender Paul Kalambayi from Dagenham & Redbridge.

The 26-year-old began his career with AFC Wimbledon, spending eight seasons with the club and making 88 appearances in League One and League Two before joining the Daggers in June 2024.

During his two-season spell there, he spent the first half of last term on loan with Kidderminster Harriers in National League North, playing under Barrow boss Adam Murray.
He has efl and national league experience and a played national north and south just cos players are proven in the efl means nothing look at our season last year it's more about togetherness and a strong bond and getting lads to click i feel and the national league is more physical than the efl so need different types players

It’s clear Murray has a plan with these signings so far; maybe it won’t work but il take that over signing a load of EFL crocks any day. Yes we probably still need 2/3 real quality attacking signings but the squad is building nicely

Yeah that’s spot on. We’ve signed greats and absolute gash from non league and the football league. Nothings ever 100% in football. Personally I’m not over the moon with the signings but I can see what mould of player he’s targeting ( pace and power) and that’s something we’ve been desperately short of in the past few years.
