Don't most loan arrangements finish at the end of a season, and the player returns to his parent club?Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 10:41 amThere was a relegation clause each player lost 30 to 40 %WalneyOne wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 10:21 am
It's highly unlikely that there's a loan clause included if
they couldn't even include a relegation clause but we're all just speculating as to the terms of the players contracts, and in reality we'll never know.
I don't really care what player X earns, as long as he gives 100%, but as others have said some players look like they can't be @r$ed.
The majority of loans now have the players parent club and the club the player is loaned to each paying a percentage of the players salary resulting in no loss in money to the player
Squad this season!

Also a loan to another club constitutes a new contract unless ( by some minor miracle) the players contract has a clause stipulating they may be sent out on loan and the player doesn't have to agree if no clause exists in the current contract.

Listen to Hornbys interview. He Staes the players have taken a 30-40% paycut. .WalneyOne wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 11:46 amIs it a fact that all players have a relegation clause or speculation?Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 10:41 am

Your right a player does not have to go out on loan if he does not want to. That's always been the case. I do not believe that constitutes a new contract though its simply two clubs and a player coming to an agreement and loan terms on loan length call back arrangements and what percentage of the players salary each club pays. A loan move does not mean a drop in salary from what the player is being paid by his parent club.

But we should send a couple out to Ramsgate FC where Ady Pennock is manager.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 12:23 pmListen to Hornbys interview. He Staes the players have taken a 30-40% paycut. .WalneyOne wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 11:46 am

There is no need for a new contract ,too much soft love for some players who showed no loyalty to Barrow last season

You clearly have no understanding of how a contract works.Pedro wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 2:45 pmBut we should send a couple out to Ramsgate FC where Ady Pennock is manager.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 12:23 pm

In your job, whatever it may be, can your boss just send you to a completely different company who do the same type of work without you agreeing?
No.
Same with the players.

Hopefully breach of contract so we can sack them, or thats probably what they wantBig_Bluebird wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 7:18 pm I’m earing that at least 3 of last seasons mob were MIA for testing on Friday
Re: Squad this season!
Didnt see Barkhuizen, Earing or Harper in the pictures or videos but that’s not to say that they weren’t there…none of them would really be a miss unless they really step it up.
Re: Squad this season!
You can do just that.
Not sure if you have used the legal system I have.
I took the Government to a Tribunal and inspite being told by a Secretary of State he could not help me I actually won and a change in the law was rubber stamped to amend the law by the Supreme Court.
I was told by a High Court Judge that what I proposed over another case was not possible.
The Solicitor I retained said what I wanted was impossible at that point.I asked are you a Freemason because I know a lot in Chambers are normally, it's like dogshit you can smell them a mile off .
Luckily he was not.
I took my case to the solicitors complaints bureau hardly impartial and they found in my favour.
My philosophy is were there is a will there is a way.
No doubt you would have been in the Sir Arthur
Wilson brigade in the first world war when we were loosing ships and it was suggested we use submarine to fight back he said it's unbritish.
Oh yes and I've won in a case in Berlin but the German courts are far better as they cap cost.

Re: Squad this season!
Barkhuizen was something of an enigma for me.
He’s knocking on at 32 in footballing terms, had an excellent career, if not stellar, at Preston, and decent at Derby.
Most games for us when he was in possession he eventually got the ball into the box, or found a teammate, but it was always just a bit lacklustre, and didn’t change games.
Defensively he was never a wing back, and at times seemed to lose interest, which if true is shameful.
With a right back feeding him in a changed system I think he could be effective, but needs to have and demonstrate the right mentality.
Re: Squad this season!
I’d have to agree there. Towards the end of the season he arguably played better he was a real threat at Cheltenham won a penalty with a great run and looked good at Salford but was strangely in and out of the team the last few games whether it was injury or…Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 9:45 pmBarkhuizen was something of an enigma for me.

At 32 he should still have plenty left but rarely looked like someone who’s been in the championship, same goes for Harper too though.
Definitely not a wingback that was clear for all to see apart from the managers! In a wide right role I also think he could still be a player for us this season but it depends how much he wants it and to be here. I get the feeling he’s one of the higher earners here so maybe taken a big hit with relegation…

I only have an LLM from Cambrige and over 30 years experience in contract law.
The devil as they say is in the detail.

something went on but again we'll never know.
New nanager / clean slate? Guess the friendlies and first couple of real games will shed some light regarding whether he has a future here.
