Football results are very hard to predict, that is why I have never won the pools or even Spot the Ball come to think of it. Few will have realistically expected much from the Hartlepool game and they weren’t disappointed. Hornchurch? Well yes you’d think we should be beating them but in hindsight they were a newly-promoted team, firing on all four cylinders and full of confidence having won their first game at the new level. We, on the other hand were relegation-haunted relative strangers, not quite on the same page yet and smarting from a first day defeat. On to Harrogate and again the realists among us won’t be expecting too much there either. So I think next weekend with two fixtures (Fri and Mon) will be a bit of a watershed to see what direction the new-look Barrow will be taking. Interesting times.

Defensive mistakes leading to soft goals and we haven't scored in open play. Harrogate have notched 8 so far. I do wonder why we consistently fail to bring in some power up front. Hopefully Marriot and Latty- Fairweather can make a difference, but I won't be holding my breath.

Even in a good year we struggle to beat these. Johnson no doubt will net for them.

I’d accept a defeat almost if the performance is ten times better than last week. I just want to see some gradual progression and improvement. Lose again though and play poorly and we risk getting into a run like last season again. Could probably roll a dice as to what the team will be this week after last week.
