Difference between the team last season and this is the players are putting effort in which can't be faulted, but there was zero quality from both sides last night. A truly awful game ruined by an incompetent referee who was wildly out of his depth. Extremely card happy towards Barrow, and you could understand it if he did it for both teams but unfortunately he wasn't. Stupid sending off. The second yellow for MJ was never a booking. In fact the Solihull player had his hands all over him but you cannot do that when you are on a booking. To play the entire second half with 10 men was always going to be a struggle, but they did try to attack rather than just sitting back.

I, for one, do not want to see a managerial merry go round like last season, but Adam Murray must surely be constantly looking over his shoulder now. It seems like we are saying the next game is a must win every game!! And he has to treat fans with respect and courtesy, especially when they have travelled a long distance on a Tuesday night. Yes, some of the players were getting grief from frustrated fans, but to keep your distance (about 50 yards), clap a few times and then turn round and walk off is very poor indeed and will not ingratiate himself to the supporters with an approach like that!

Can’t really disagree with any of that. We were at the game last night and I didn’t see a lack of effort but more a lack of quality, a lack of much of.a plan and a lack of discipline again. We can’t play simple 5-10 yard forward passes, we can’t trap a ball under pressure and we play back to the keeper way too much as the easy option which then causes problems. MJ has probably cost us a point due to his reckless and unnecessary first booking which then put him in danger. Let’s face it Solihull were pretty shocking as well and 11 v 11 would probably have finished 0-0.
I don’t want to see a manger go round again either but I really can’t see a way forward with Murray unless we are prepared to go through 80 players and a wing and a prayer.

The point Chris makes on investment is crucial as well, we surely need some help there, whether the board are looking after Shearer stepped back I wouldn’t know but you would hope so.
End of the day what have we really got to show for our time in the EFL? Roof on the HS End (great) and some canvas stands that give away fans easy likes on social media
[/quote]

We have been looking for new investors since Hetherington left the board and that was iirc 4/5 years ago
Meanwhile the likes of Lancaster and most recently Harrogate are on the cusp of new investment the like of we appear unable to attract
As for Murray he is Michael Jolley Mk2 the only difference unlike Jolley Murray payed at a decent level.
He talked about giving us an identity well he has certainly done that with officials. I’ve never seen a Barrow side so ill disciplined and let’s face it darn right dirty and rightly so officials are on to us and will be whilst Murray has us playing as we are
I use the term playing very loosely as let’s face it it’s upper dross
Sort it out Hornby and quickly. Either get Murray in tell him he has to change or get rid

Most takeovers occur by gradual acquisition of percentages of shares. No-one will do that with Hornby making decisions. He'll devalue your shares.

Hence why literally every club in football has had investment and we haven't.

Perhaps rather than giving the manager a free hand we need a Director of Football to run an eye over proposed signings? ;)

I wonder who from the board is ok ing these signings? How on earth do we expect playoffs when some of these players just aren't good enough !
Does anyone hand on heart think this team is getting any better no decent central defender, left back no quality midfielder just bad wingers it's a joke!
Absolutely. There were question marks for me over Murray as he’s never really managed at this level his success was at north and south level. Fylde sacked him after a couple of months and quoted the standard took them by surprise. I just don’t think Murray has what it takes at this level. His signings also raised some eyebrows as very few were national league proven players, infact a few were relegated from the division below and released!
Walker is an awful player and we’ve let Whitfield go to persist with him? Kalambayi is a trier and fair play for fronting up, but he was realeased by relegated Dagenham last season and is dreadful on the ball, and Digie is even worse! Latty Fairweather is never a footballer but gets the nod over what was supposed to be our number 1 left back in Amos. The only bright sparks are Marriott and ward who were poor tonight and are being dragged down the dross around them.

This is Murray’s team and men, his style and way. He questioned leadership but I question any ability to pass over 10 yards, control a ball. There’s a big gulf between National north and national league and neither Murray or most of his men are anywhere near good enough so far. You can’t hurry a Murray maybe Hornby will after that I’d not be shocked….
Absolutely all of the above.

I’ve had several conversations with people about BW being allowed to leave while we persist with Walker….madness.

Terrible football to watch can be papered over when you are winning, terrible football to watch AND losing will only result in another manager being shown the door.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Manager seems clueless
Players discipline appalling
Football on offer is dross
Best players wanting to leave
Going to be a long season and if it carries on relegation again
Not sure if getting rid of Murray right thing to do, board are also clueless it seems
Not a good time to be a barrow fan at moment.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

There is something wrong at the club there has to be. In the past couple of seasons we’ve had players who we have deemed no good go somewhere else and thrive.

Same with thia bunch of players - I think we do have some good players but it’s just not working.

We could sack Murray get someone else in but in 2 months time we will he calling for another change - there must be something fundamentally wrong at the club

I’m sure that you are right in that assessment but coupled to that the style of football that we have to watch this season is absolute dross and we’ll pick up more red cards than wins at this rate. Not want I want to watch sorry.

The big disappointment for me is that we are not getting what was advertised by the manager before the season began: attacking mindset, fast, direct football. To name just one, Walker was described as a fast direct winger with pace to burn. Hmmm! I haven't seen any proper wing play to speak of yet. There are very few footballers in the team - Ward, Marriott, Harper perhaps. Maybe Mooney will add some quaiity if he ever gets fit enough.

Adam mentioned the yellow cards in his after match interview
Murray’s reply was his teams have always played that way and he isn’t changing for anyone

And that will be his downfall...too arrogant to change.

Just listened to Murray's interview, it's excuse after excuse he's on about leaders, being ruthless well on tackling we're up there with the best at fouling etc but let's get to the cruxt of the matter, these players were signed by Murray he bigged them up yet when push comes to shuv some Just Aren't up to it
I can't see him changing but more money is going to be wasted signing player's until ( if) he gets it right, people say don't sack him but where's the cut off point?
Will the attendances effect the decision?
I've got a season ticket but I wouldn't pay to watch this garbage you'd probably get a better game at Holker and I don't mean to be disrespectful!

The atmosphere on Saturday will be tense but who knows how we'll play?
What a shambles but I'm not surprised, I said after watching the friendlies we don't look that good!

If we go one nil down on Saturday the atmosphere could become toxic
