Harsh that. Old Father Time caught up with Canavan in the end but without doubt the best skipper we had whilst in the EFL imo.

He had credit in the bank IMO for the previous seasons with us. Legs had gone last season he had a number of injuries he was a victim of poor recruitment around him but no way on earth was he a bad captain .

Great player for us was Canavan until age and injury caught him out and last season was one too far for him, but I'm not convinced he was a great captain. Was a bit too quiet for me when things were going wrong and whilst he led by example in the way he played, he wasn't great at rallying those around him when times were tough which was probably more often than not during his time with us.

The MJ Williams who was "Nowhere to be seen in the latest social media post from the club", except he had been a few hours before the post?)

It comes on the back of Murrays recent interviews beginning with last Fridays when he spoke about getting the poison out of the club. In his post match he has not named him directly but plenty of what has said. IE Captain Marriot and telling the lads that this is their dressing room now take ownership of it before last Saturdays game indicate a change has been made.

Perhaps it also comes on the back of one or two people reading too much into certain situations and comments, or lack of them, from the club! One or two slightly iffy performances seem , for some people, to obliterate the memory of many good ones in a poor team. Whether MJ stays or goes, he does not deserve some of the nasty comments from some on this forum. In the days before social media (which I am sadly well able to remember!) these would just be remarks made by a couple of blokes chatting in a pub, and they have no more significance than that just because they receive a wider airing.
