We are delivering on that pre/season promise, but a poor crowd after last Saturday - surely they aren’t all watching England?

Perhaps watching Barrow on TV!

What was the attendance?

I didn’t catch the figure, but I think it was less than 2,000?

Three wins on the bounce….I don’t think any of us saw that coming after Solihull.

Hardest job of the night must’ve been picking a MotM….

Oakley, fantastic and getting better. Thompson, Winterbottom, Allen, Marriot….it just goes on. When was the last time we genuinely saw a bench so strong?

Absolutely excellent tonight we really grew into it and punished.

Great performance after a shakey start played really well second half facing a strong wind, 3 brilliant finishes , but what a poor crowd people should support the club instead of being sat watching it on t.v., if you want the club to do well start supporting them instead of commenting on here !( that's for the so called fans who live round here ).
Have to admit after Solihull I couldn't envisage a performance like this but the players we have added are a different level ,if Seb Thompson keeps playing like that he won't be here long, bring on Saturday!

Fought hard and won our battles eventually wearing them down. A superb save by Winterbottom who is brimming with confidence. Seb Thompson was a nuisance all night and Issac Marriott was the puppet master.
Our turbo seems to kick in around the sixty five minute mark. Harper again the man in the right place and finished well. Great relief for Alex Reid to finally get his goal tally ticking over had a good game overall but he’s there to score. And the icing on the cake late on by Arian Allen.
Roll on Saturday, it can’t come soon enough. :

Ref has set his stall out here with two early yellows, Kalambayi didnt do a lot wrong there really for me. Scunthorpe started brightly an early save from Winterbottom low down before Reid just curled one wide. Quite end to end and lively here can see there being goals…

We are conceding way too many silly fouls Benjamin is intent on blocking and fouling people and is that now Marriott out of Saturday? Wonder if that’s MJs chance to come back in…

Williams is on 4 bookings, would probably get another if he plays, another ban and want a week off again.

Brilliant result and performance especially that 2nd half Scunthorpe couldn't get near us apart from a brilliant save from Winterbottom, we just got stronger the fitness is top notch, regarding the attendance maybe it's down to people not wanting to watch Murray ball, we are now non-league so crowds will be up and down, but tonight was a great watch so hopefully more turn up Saturday.

First half was even and my overall thought was that it was two decent sides going at it. Second half we bossed it, felt it was only a matter of time until we scored although that did come after a magnificent save from Winterbottom which proved crucial. Once we got the first we didn't look back and powered to victory, so refreshing after years of victories with nervy final 20 odd minutes.

Despite the difficult start I think we'd been threatening to pull off performances and victories like we've managed in the last couple of games. Obviously difficult after lows like Solihull and one good fortnight doesn't make a season, but it shows that good things can come to fruition if you give it a chance.

It's been a long time since I enjoyed a Tuesday night, or a game in general as much as that.

Barrow rise to 12th, just in the top half of the table. with a convincing 3-0 win in front of 2,084 supporters including 137 visiting fans. 15 points from 11 games and a plus 4 goal difference.

After a worrying first 20 minutes when Scunthorpe dominated and we were in fire-fighting mode, we never looked back, growing in confidence as the game progressed. It again took until the second half when we finally unleased our fire power, our goals coming in the 68th, 71st and 88th minutes.

A real squad performance- man of the match went to Oakley but Thompson and a few others could have earned the accolade. Six different players scored or assisted the three goals. Special mention for Winterbottom who made excellent vital blocks and saves during Scunthorpe’s free-flowing periods, especially in the first 20 minutes and then another 5 minute patch just before and after our third goal.

We struggled to settle at first. In the 4th minute, a melee following a Scunthorpe corner saw a booking apiece for Kalambayi and Scunthorpe’s Ashbee. Winterbottom saved well from Ogle three minutes later and in the 10th minute, Marriott’s yellow for a foul on Rowley means he will miss Saturday’s game.

More Barrow fouls and Scunthorpe free kicks didn’t result in further damage. Jones won an 18th minute corner; Butterfield’s kick was headed clear but another corner resulted. At this stage it seemed a matter of time before the visitors would find a breakthrough goal.

All seemed to change in the 20th minute with our first good chance of the game, A fine break by Thompson gave Reid a shot on goal which was saved by Campbell.

Five minutes later another break with a shot by Thompson went wide of the left-hand post.

In the 37th minute, a Marriott shot from the right went over the bar.

Goalless at half time but we were now in ascendancy.

Within 40 seconds of the restart, Scunthorpe’s Rowley was booked. Three minutes in, Campbell fumbled a Marriott shot which went for a corner.

In the 53rd minute, Ogle became the visitors’ third player to be booked for a foul on Ward, as we were becoming too hot to handle. A minute later, a Reid shot was punched away by Campbell for a corner. This also resulted in a Scunthorpe injury and, before the corner was taken, Ogle and Hurst were replaced by Evans and Sellars-Fleming.

On the hour a sharp shot from Latty-Fairweather was blocked, then another shot was fired wide of the right post. Three minutes later, Harper shot wide.

We were now knocking on the door so regularly it seemed only a matter of time. However, a sudden break by Scunthorpe in the 65th minute required a save from point blank range from Ashbee by Winterbottom .

After that fresh scare, three minutes later we made the breakthrough. An excellent cross along the goalline from the right by Oakley found Harper to slot home for 1-0.

Another three minutes later it was 2-0. Campbell did well to block a sharp Thompson shot but then Reid immediately slotted home from the rebound. Between the two goals, Brennan replaced Jones for the visitors.

Five minutes later, in the 76th minute, we made our first substitutions, Cameron and Allen coming on for Harper and Reid. Two minutes later, Digie headed over following a Ward corner.

Parker and Fale then replaced Rowley and Starbuck for Scunthorpe, and then Parker was booked for pushing. Campbell had no problem with a tame shot from Allen then, in the 83rd minute, we replaced Ward and Thompson with Amos and Mooney.

A good cross by Mooney two minutes later resulted in a shot which Campbell saved.

Scunthorpe found a second wind after their two subsitutions, Winterbottom making an excellent block for a corner and then, in the 87th minute, a save from Gale.

A minute later, it was 3-0. Having soaked up this short period of pressure, we responded with a superb Allen shot from a narrow angle on the left, assisted by Mooney.

Edwards then came on for Marriott and was carded within seconds.We saw out the four minutes of added time to keep our clean sheet, Batty firing well over the bar in their best chance.

The players and manager soaked up five minutes celebrating the excellent team win with the ecstatic Bluebird fans.

That sounds right, Adam J did say less than 2000 home fans as there were around 130 away fans. Play like that and keep getting the results and the floating fans should come back. Well done, a great team performance. I wish I lived closer to Barrow - it’s usually easier to attend away matches.
