Now we know how Gloucester must’ve felt when they drew us away. If we get through it’s deffo winnable.

People need to check their heads in here.
Beat Gloucester and then a team we beat away last year with a worse team and manager then we could draw a Championship side away in the Second Round. £££

Re: Away to Gillingham FA Cup
Sorry to point it out Silverdale Bluebird but Championship sides come in at the 3rd round stage but this is what will happen we beat Gloucester, Gillingham are over confident so we beat them. We then play the winners of Plymouth Parkway v Berkhamstead tie in the 2nd. We then follow it up with a win at Liverpool in the 3rd. It’s written in the stars. Re: Away to Gillingham FA Cup
Can't believe fans wanting us to lose at Gloucester because we have Gillingham away, yes it's a long trek for the regular away fans but it's not impossible for us to win the tie, the Club face a very bleak future unless new investment arrives and some want us to throw away a Cup game with the potential of making some welcome funds, just watch the meltdown on here tomorrow if we lose.

Yes, it's a disappointing draw, but it will be even more disappointing if we lose to Gloucester.

A disappointing draw, for sure. That is how the competition works, though. However, even more disappointing is talk of 'chucking a game'. Fortunately, I do not think the management team, the players or the vast majority of supporters will see it that way. Cannot make the game tonight, but will be listening in and will be willing us in to the First Round Proper. Come on, Barrow!

Agree. It's a little odd that some on the forum seem to think that we are eminently beatable by a team from two divisions below us but could not realistically beat a team from one division above. Strange kind of support.Cubbins Paratrooper wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 10:51 am A disappointing draw, for sure. That is how the competition works, though. Sadly, SB, we are in the National League now and Gloucester City is only one league below, the National League North.Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 11:39 amAgree. In the 1924-25 season after defeating Darwin at home in the 4th qualifying round Barrow defeated Wrexham at home in the 5th qualifying round before meeting Gillingham away in the 6th qualifying round the tie ended 0-0 followed by a 1-1 draw at Holker street, the third match was played at Wolves which ended 1-1 followed by a 1-1 draw at Arsenal before a 2-1 win at Millwall`s ground. In the first round proper Barrow drew 0-0 away at Blackpool losing the replay at home 0-2. From the 15th November - 14th January Barrow had played NINE cup matches.
Re: Away to Gillingham FA Cup
If we get through tonight,Gillingham is winnable and get a lower club in round after we could be in 3rd round. Be good to get some cash in as I assume we are paying MJ, Berghauzen and Jackson’s full wages so getting some money in will be help the club out

Re: Away to Gillingham FA Cup
Yes it s a hard draw for the next round in travel terms IF we beat Gloucester tonight. The only important thing at moment is to out in another good performance unforunately on plastic pitch and try to win the game then think what comes next.I am more concerned about fitness levels for next league match after a midweek match so far away.Play to our potential we have good chance against a decent Gloucester team.Safe journey to all and hoprully few injuries and bookings.
