A supporter off here (who wanted to remain anonymous) dropped these off at my house last week as a donation to the club. Corner flag poles, sockets, three sets of six flags and the carry case. I handed them over to Gareth last week - hopefully they’ll be on display over the coming season.
* When he suggested buying them I did check with the club regarding possible size guidelines etc and they are all perfectly fine.
A very nice gesture off him.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Just going to put up a few pictures of some of the projects we’ve taken on over the summer but first we have to thank all our sponsors.
Normally we’d just add them to the header on here but there have been so many this season (easily the best sponsor-wise we’ve ever had) we had to get a sponsors board made to thank them all. From individuals to companies to the people who simply hand over cash on match days to Atlas who have sponsored our buses for the season - which in turn are an important fund raiser for us.
Thank you to every one of them, it makes such a difference when buying materials rather then “making do” with something we have lying around.

Thanks to the NSC who have once again paid for several projects this year, this time around it was two of the turnstiles either side of the main stand.
One was in such a bad state we don’t even know how it was even standing, it was probably held together by the roof - which in turn was rotten. The outer wall had to come down, the roof replaced with new sheets, interior partition wall removed completely, new interior panelling, false ceiling with new lighting and painted out.

The club history boards were moved from the fanzone to allow that fantastic Trust banner to go up and replaced on the west terrace making that area look a bit more interesting.
New lighting went up in several places ready for the darker months.
The ramp to gain access to the disabled shelter was replaced as it was collapsing in a couple of areas.

All the back panels that were in the home changing room were reused in the stewards room….waste nothing

After the big leak under the main stand during the summer a shed load of plaster (walls & ceilings) had to be removed and re-plastered, not by us but our lads and lasses then went in and re-painted the two affected rooms.

The cellar & boiler room doors alongside the X Bar path were literally falling apart, all three doors and their frames were removed and remade from new. Another project the NSC contributed towards.

The players tunnel doors were in a bad state so they too were removed and replaced from new. Another project the NSC contributed towards.
The fanzone gates wouldn’t close or lock properly so we made them a sliding box bar locking to make that corner a bit more secure.

The garage corner gates were heavy, hard to lock and starting to rust and rot. The old sheeting was taken off, and the metal mesh that served no purpose (apart from making the gate even heavier) was removed. The sheeting was replaced and the metal framework on the inside will eventually be painted with the correct metal paint.

And finally, even though there were many many other jobs on the go….Bluey had no where to get changed in private so an area under the stand was taken for him. That’s not the finished job but it’s now far better than what he had.
And the less “glamorous jobs” that down spout was overflowing and would’ve cause damp problems in the X Bar. When we got up there it was full of all sorts that must’ve been there for years - and absolutely stunk, a horrible job.

Thanks for this update, Spirit. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you to the whole team at the GMV. What a crew!

A tremendous range of jobs done to the usual high standard by the team this summer, reflecting the GMV members' skills and commitment. Well done to the GMV members!
Like so many other areas of the club - owners, Trust, matchday volunteers, for example - only possible because individuals stand up and come forward when needed to keep the club ticking along.
Thanks to all.
