Grant Holt is a massive no for me. Tin hat time.
Not for me either
We have an obsession with ex players with the assumption that in their mid 30s they will be as good as they were at 25

Vardy signed a vastly improved contract half-way through the season. Where was our offer to Cook? Could've got a decent sell-on fee, but...it's Barrow AFC we're talking about after all, the worst-run club in the country.
Footnote: Dover are pulling a stand down in the summer to re-build a new one in its place...are we?

He's done his job and will be replaced pity he wasn't under contract but there are better strikers our there.look at williams for example cox is no mug and will bring someone else through that's for sure.one thing u can't teach is pace and for all the hard work he does cook isn't blessed with pace.

Players come and go, that's football. The days of a 1 club man went a long time ago and as long as they do the business when they're here that's all anyone can really ask. Wish Cookie well, he obviously has ambition but whether he has skill and ability to cut it at a higher level remains to be seen, personally i think he'll do ok in a team that plays to his strength and launch it into the box from all angles.

Andy Cook and the Football League

Good luck to Andy. And thanks to him for the goals and the service he's given us.
However, I think his desire to play in the Football League is somewhat condescending to Barrow AFC - knowing Paul Casson's plans for the club.
Carlisle and Hartlepool? C'mon!
Why not stay another season? His desire may be fulfilled?
Then again, it could be argued that he maybe doesn't believe that Paul Casson's 'Dream' is achievable? If so - why not?
I would love to have been a
fly on the wall when recent negotiations took place. I would have loved to have heard Mr. Casson's 'Pitch' regarding our plans for promotion to the Football League. More importantly, I would have loved to have heard Andy Cook's response - and his lack of belief (if this is the case) in those plans...

Maybe its just that he has the chance of a football league contract just down the road from where he comes from?
15 miles or so to training and similar for match day.
A lot better than travelling to Manchester or wherever and/or staying over in rented accommodation.
Just my opinion.

If he stays another year and we fail to get promotion he has lost vital time.If he goes to a football league club and flops he my think he can come back win win.

Good luck cookie
I don't blame him for going if he goes to a league club - a player should always have the ambition to play at the higher level and let's be honest do people really expect us to be in the league any time soon - I'm not convinced

Even though we will be battling against sides who generate their own money through huge gates whilst we just lump cash and hope all goes well.

Aii can't wait to battle against those sides who generate their own money without lumping cash at it, like Forest Green, Eastleigh, Fylde and Gateshead?

I don't blame him for going while he has the chance. He is fully fit and in demand, he could stay with us and suffer a major injury and never get the chance again.

I was thinking more Grimsby, Wrexham, Tranmere, Lincoln.
Its ok though, weve got money now so its not a bad thing anymore like it was when Fleetwood threw money about to go up the leagues.
