Warren was absolutely awful on Thursday. He had about 10 touches in the first half and gave the ball away every time. He lost possession to give away the corner that led to the first goal. I would have given him MOTM for Tranmere.

Agree not Warrens best game, but if you are going to criticize the player please get your facts right, he did not lose possession to give away the corner, he made a poor clearance on our right side and the ball was worked over to our left, where a few players could have done better before Brough made a block tackle to concede a corner which led to the first goal for Tranmere.

Both he and Brough appear to have very forward roles and this seems to have been exploited via opponents who have found space behind one leading to angled crosses coming in with the other struggling to cover at the far post.
Out right hand side is a weakness as it was when we had Hutton. Warren has ability but he gets caught out of position too often IMO. Teams have noticed this and many of the goals against us come from that side and have done all season.

The role that Warren and Brough are being asked to play is one of the most difficult. They are required to have pace, get forward, put in crosses and do their shift in defence when needed. They are always in transition from one role to another.

There are few players that can do this really well. On off days Brough struggles with it. Warren simply struggles or has done for the last few games. At Stevenage he was targeted and tortured. It is not having a downer on the guy to suggest that he is currently not up to the job.

Warren made a poor clearance/lost possession whatever which eventually led to the corner. It was poor play. The player needs a rest or a loan spell to restore his confidence
