Check - I wouldn't allow some moron to tell me what to do in the street either, just because he had a high vis jacket and a few related grandparents.

Sounds like the original poster did everything right. Having witnessed the incident, he did nothing wrong other than refuse to leave without an explanation.

Last I checked, this wasn't Iran or North Korea, and British Citizens were allowed to go about their lawful business without fear of harassment from morons who've allowed a sliver of power to go to their head.

Agreed, but what do you do when not everyone sticks to those rules?

The moron who brought in the object last week is to blame. By bringing in a flare he has created an atmosphere of distrust between fans and stewards which has led to todays incidents

The actions of one [SwearFilter] have had negative consequences for all fans, as always

Witnessed it all in the ground, some stewards and so called security experts from our club need sacking. Disgraceful scenes.
Police and stewards clueless.

Looking at the discussion going on in the press box, I think they might have realised their mistake.

Sad to hear this, especially if it was a random act.

I'd love to know why they searched PS for 'objects' when he was nothing to do with what happened on Tuesday as he wasn't even at Tuesday nights game?

Surely the head steward should be brought to task over this,he is the responsible one.I also think jones the bobby struts around like he can't wait to witness someone doing the slightest thing wrong and he's on to them.Is it true that for every banning order given out at Barrow he gets a new truncheon. He needs banning,NOW.

I've got to totally disagree with that. Trev has always (imo) been very approachable & (again, imo) more than fair.

No doubt there'll be others that'll disagree with my view of him but I can only go by how I've always found him.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Common sense needs to prevail here for everyone's benefit.

Both sides have made mistakes, its bound to happen due to the quick transformation happening at the club.

The supporters have made mistakes by bringing the smoke bomb type things into the ground & away at Boston, IMO they add to the atmosphere but understand the law makes them prohibited & the club have a responsibility the have to follow. .

The Stewards have made some mistakes in their handling of the situation at both recent games.

The club need to hold a meeting with the chief steward & the team of stewards to clarify their expected duties & operations.

IMO the club should invite the lad & his family who was wrongly picked out and embarrassed to the Chorley game as VIP guests of the club as a gesture of goodwill.

Trevor has been a very good friend of BAFC & has saved the club tens of thousands of pounds over the years through his official capacity, even if he does steal sweets from the changing rooms  its a small price to pay for his help.

We can not operate without the Police, Officials, Stewards & the laws of H&S, Its the world we live in, the club can put this to bed in quick time with a public statement of intent & hopefully common sense & a goodwill gesture to the lad.

Now can we talk about the football please, BLUEBIRDS :flag:

Whatever has gone on yesterday over this incident I feel sure our leader will be picking up on this over in Dallas. I'm sure PC will be having a word or two and if PC feels it's a case of pc gone mad then he'll want to ensure it's knocked on the head and sorted quickly.

That hasn't taken long......he's only been here a couple of months :)

An afternoon on the ale with T9T should sort him out.

At a guess id say because one of them saw something that gave him cause for concern & did his job by trying to sort it out, there are two sides to every story, & we have only heard one.

Have dozens & dozens of other people been stopped like this? if yes then it would appear heavy handed, if a small handful have then id say its par for the course where 1300 people are attending a footy game.

After re-reading his post again the thing that struck me was that he seemed unwilling to be searched at the moment the Steward thought he had something, but then only after he left the scene & returned was he now willing to comply, to me its down to (A) He was shocked initially and refused on the spur of the moment then upon reflection reconsidered or (B) He ditched whatever he had then returned to comply.

We don't have a club to support without proper Policing, Stewarding & H & S, We need to remember this, We are all super excited about the direction our club is taking & the footy on offer is going to be fantastic to watch, Lets just enjoy the roll-a-coaster & stop the internal bickering.

Thought that myself. Maybe Trevor and co were right.
