Cox is not going to be fully clued up on all the Barrow squad so it makes sense to keep Meeks on for a while. He can use Meeks as a sounding board to get to full picture on the players form, attitudes, training commitments etc. Once Cox gets his feet under the table and has seen first hand the players capabilities, then you might see a change in the backroom staff, but for now I don't see any problem with Meeks being kept on.

I agree. We don't just want to be shoving our Cox straight in there and hoping for the best. We need to ease him in at first and lubricate the whole situation.

Not to bothered about him staying.
With Edmo his role was assistant manager, I don't know how much match day input he had with tactics, team selection etc.
I think he will be more in a coaching role under cox.
You never know, how many people thrive under a new manager at work with different guidance?

His title may have been assistant manager but his role appeared to evolve and I'm not clear what it was other than on the sidelines on match day.

You can see the passion there from Meechan when we win a game and he gives it the old Meeks fist pump. He's been through some changes with Barrow and probably one of the longest serving now in the set up. Hope he gets a chance in the Cox management team because it keeps some continuity and I think that's important in developing the whole set up.

I think it takes more than that,the guy was involved in every decision made by edmo,i`m sorry where else has the assistant manager not gone?,i don`t care about fist pumping etc. i rather see a committed team,no more banal substitutions (that`s after about 10 minutes deliberating while the match slips away!)and good tactics!

I agree one hundred percent, we all want the same. Cox will be the man making the decisions.
