Well at least we all now know what Andy Cook told Carlisle!!!
Can't get bitter with Cookie as he always gave his all in a Barrow shirt and peoples heads do get turned especially when families and agents get involved. I'm sure one or two things will come out in the coming weeks from both sides.
Me I'm looking forward not backward and I'm sure Paul Cox has one or two aces to play in the weeks to come.
The best of luck Cookie but have a couple of howlers when we meet next season.

Good luck to him, football careers are short and you need to take opportunities when they come, Tranmere are a huge club compared to us.
Well, equally, no loyalty in football cuts both ways, so I look forward to you bleating on here about him getting dogs abuse next visit.
+1, hope we hammer the [SwearFilter] next season

I would say he has.
Paul Cox stated :-
"He and his agent have been honest with me and told me which clubs have come in and Andy has told me if it wasn’t to be the Football League, then his preference would be to sign for Barrow again – and there are some pretty big hitters who have come in for him from our level of football. That’s a positive."
Just says "his preference". Hardly rules out all possibilities.
Cookie really said "his preference" did he? So something like "Sorry Mr Cox but I'm looking for a FL club but if that doesn't materialise, my preference would be to stay at Barrow"
Does that sound like the Cookie we know?
I can totally understand him chasing a better wage, no problem with that but he lied, plain and simple.

Surprised at a non-league move, naturally disappointed, but being consistently excellent earned Andy options. I respect his decision, thank him for his outstanding service and (apart from our future encounters!) wish him the very best of luck.

Can see it now opening game of the season tranmere.
Disappointed but we need to move on. Did a job for us in the last two seasons for that we should be thankful got us up and kept us in the national league, saying that I would love it if we went up and they do a Wrexham a get stuck in this league.

Poor move in my opinion. Thought he might learn from his Grimsby ' bigger club' experience. Tranmere could be non league longer than Barrow!
Anyway, he did well while he was here. Hope he does well there, but not against us. See ya.

Always going - But still more gutted him leaving Barrow more than what was said and who he signed for ! On the + side , Least it free's up the wage bill , and we have Ross Hannah , so just need another 2 strikers in , Like Cox has stated he's been in a hotel speaking too a number of players , I trust Cox too replace Cooks goals and for his midfield too be scoring a lot more next season!

Andy doesn't have any real history of making good decisions. On the field the longer he has to think about a situation the poorer the outcome is. Looks like he's as sharp off the field.
No doubt Tranmere have offered him a very good deal and whether Barrow fans like the idea of him going to another NL club or not isn't really relevant. However, looking at what had previously been said on his behalf by the club and his agent, the location of the new club in relation to his home, this new training location which will be as far if not further away from home unless he's got a moving deal and his apparent willingness to forego a FL contract (which he would have got) for more money at a lower level - to me this strikes me as short-sighted, lacking in ambition, and frankly in keeping with what many have said about Cooky's legendary intellect.
I recall when we were relegated a couple of years ago he was out the door to Grimsby without much of a thank you and good bye so we shouldn't be surprised hes done it again. I cant hate him - his goals have been invaluable for us and a contract is a contract. My instinct tells me that Cooky is never going to be the type of player that troubles the upper echelons of the game. If he had an opportunity to play in the Football league, at 25 he should have taken it. Tranmere like Luton could take another couple of seasons to get back up in the FL and what guarantee is there that they would want him beyond the end of his contract.
Note: I haven't even mention BAFC and our own aspirations. Clearly he wasn't impressed enough with that argument. This is the worst possible outcome for us. If he doesn't propel Tranmere back into the League next season what a dismal decision this will have been.

He's obviously been offered more money by Tranmere than Barrow but I'm surprised he's gone to Tranmere considering the distance it is from his home. Obviously all the Football League clubs share my opinion that he's not good enough for Division 2. Amazed at people getting upset though and all this talk about "loyalty". Football is nothing more than a job now. They all make the same "loyalty" noises when they sign for any club but and there's no such thing as loyalty and why should there be? There certainly wouldn't be any gnashing of teeth on here if was one of the bad players who had been released. I haven't seen anybody complaining about the lack of loyalty by the club to the likes of Grand and Walker when it works the other way. Anyway, from what I've heard of Andy when he's been on the radio, I wouldn't be surprised if he thinks Tranmere are still in the Football League!
