business end of the season, performances mean diddly squat its points on the board that is paramount. Priceless away point well done to the whole squad.

The only thing that changed the match today was the strength of the wind. Colchester had it in the first half and didn't score the goals they should have and it was pretty obvious from early in the second half that we were getting on top even allowing for the fact that we hardly ever managed to put 2 passes together. We were getting on top before the changes were made in midfield which IMO made no improvement at all although Beadling for Jason Taylor was probably worthwhile as Jason was running out of energy. The really worthwhile change was Andrew coming on because when you can't pass the ball to your own team and you have a strong wind in your favour you can make some progress if you have a big man who can control a high ball and head it properly and he's the only striker we have that can do those things.

We have taken 16 points from the last 8 matches and are 3rd in the form table over that period. I just wish everyone would just appreciate what has been achieved by the staff and the players over the last few weeks, it really is a remarkable achievement, they should all be congratulated on this and we are almost there

For a newly-promoted team to go without a win in the first 11 games (all comps) then finally get a couple of wins, but then to do almost exactly the same again (10 games) and change manager/caretaker, THEN to have a third longish rut after another two-game winning bubble, THEN to change manager/caretaker again....... for us to have the form we have produced in the last few weeks is nothing short of miraculous.

That 4 consecutive wins streak (in particular) has given us every chance of staying up. A couple of months ago we looked completely doomed.

Not taking anything for granted yet, but we have a realistic chance now, and the heavy pressure is more on others.

Definitely a discussion for afterwards. However whilst I’d agree with all those things that have made this season so tough my challenge would be how many of these factors were self- inflicted?

All of them.

Just need to get over the line regardless of playing style and take stock in the summer. Clear out and appoint someone hopefully in a different world to Dunn/Jolley
