That's probably all gone on paying Clemence/Stockdale Contracts which had 17 months left, also paying part of wages for the loan players and now paying a new Manager/Assistant, £300,000 easily spent.

Good, because there does seem to have been some correlation between training on 3G, our performances and the stream of injuries.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 4:22 pmIt looked like we were back on the grass at FC United last week.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 4:01 pm
Training facilities nomads probably isn't helping, At Curzon aren't we atm & its not the best atm But its all we got atm.

Re: January Signings?
We supposedly had another player coming in wonder if that's now gone?
Re: January Signings?
Elliot Newby 2022/23 season , 17 games, 0 assists, 0 goals.
2023/24 season, 44 games, 0 goals, ? Assists.
2024/25 season, 24 games, 2 goals, 5 Assists.
Easy to see where the problem is?

I agree.Clemence was not one for making excuses unlike a certain Mr Cooper about training facilities but the fact it appears we have hardly trained on grass since possibly very early November possibly earlier can’t have helped imo

Re: January Signings?
I doubt he’d be here at all if he wasn’t from Barrow. In fairness he was probably signed as a squad player, played most of last season At left wing back which he never is one, but he’s not a league 2 player. Too small and lightweight, not enough end product and either his crosses fail to beat the defender or he loses the chance to put one in. He was dreadful yesterday although not alone at Swindon in his 20 minute appearance. Underhit a simple pass to Jackson on the overlap, lost the ball when one on one with a defender and then gave it away for the second goal…along with a few others we need to do better than him if we’re going to be competitive in this league.
His brother had his chance at league football too and has probably now found his level in the national league and isn’t the answer to our problems or at least one of them either.

The squad has plenty of dead wood and newby is one of them he's like a rabbit in the headlights when he gets the ball totally out of his depth but they all need to have a good look at themselves saturday was the last straw and the supporters who travel away week in week out deserve better something is not right at the club and we the supporters need to know what it is i dont think clemence can take all the blame

Quite so, other mitigating factors are as follows:Sonofsam wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 9:12 am The squad has plenty of dead wood and newby is one of them he's like a rabbit in the headlights when he gets the ball totally out of his depth but they all need to have a good look at themselves saturday was the last straw and the supporters who travel away week in week out deserve better something is not right at the club and we the supporters need to know what it is i dont think clemence can take all the blame
Keeper: Erratic
Back line: Unorganized and accident-prone
Midfield: Lightweight and lacking creativity
Forwards: Unexciting and ineffectual
Apart from that - job's a good 'un!
We will follow the soccer, over land and sea...

Re: January Signings?
A bit of a left field one here, but a Walsall fan has posted on the L2 forum suggesting that Whing and the Walsall boss Mat Sadler are good mates and that might lead to Danny Johnson coming here on loan - he's out of favour at Walsall???

You’d take him; but at the moment I would imagine we have to find someone to take Telford and/or Garner first
