According to a BBC reporter who’s contacted each club individually.......

10 clubs want the season to end immediately
4 clubs want the season to carry on
9 clubs are undecided
1 club politely refused to answer

I think for the leagues to survive in their current form ,promotion and relegation has to carry on and the winners and losers should be decided on the total number of points each club has earned to date and it shouldn't even go to a vote. That way everyone in every league would be able to move forward and formulate plans for the new season.To keep prevaricating only creates confusion and expense when the decision keeps being dragged out.To try and cancel a season when most of it has been played and some teams have been in front for most of the season would make the English game a laughing stock throughout the world.

Look at what has happened in the scottish leagues do that in the english league you reward success and not failure its as simple

Of course there is but if we were in the bottom 4 there would have been 29 pages saying the season should be cancelled!

Doubt very much that any team in the NL is not convinced that the season will end, especially with a further three weeks of lockdown ahead. Clearly if the report is reasonably accurate, then the NL will get it's majority though it sounds like it'll be a while yet before a result is declared. However if the majority is not very close to unanimous it does show how difficult it will be for the NL to broker a final outcome.

Suspicion might be that the teams voting to continue mainly are those the top of the table still harbouring promotion/play off hopes. We should probably remind ourselves that playing on though increasingly unfeasible remains the current EFL position so you might see a few clubs articulating that view as a means of keeping aligned. As a matter of interest Chairman Dave has been talking to the Blackpool Gazette saying that Fylde will vote to end the season though its clear from his comments that he sees this as a given and has no intention of meekly accepting relegation for his club.

I remember when we were thrown out of the league there was Social Distancing by virtue of the numbers who attended the game

Yes, lowest home crowds for each of the first five NPL seasons: 255, 143, 200, 281, 262 (E&OE) - a tribute to those who kept the club going, really.

The club fanbase dropped off massively going into non league. Relegation, combined with what was a golden age in Div 1, I would imagine many fans started following Man U, Liverpool during these years. We never recovered from it.

I know this is not the correct thread and, I'm not going to start googling but, those stats you just mentioned in respect of attendances in the first five years....Was it one of those years where Brian McManus scored a late winner in a night match against the then mighty Scarborough to keep us from being relegated?. If I'm right, I'm guessing there wont be many of us who can remember!.

Brian McManus did score in a 2--1 win, we finished next to bottom 23rd one of five teams to finish on 33pts in those days it was goal difference,Fleetwood finish bottom and resigned from the league, the crowd was 484 and I was at the game. In those days the NPL had re election so no relegation.

He was a good player.
Not sure if that was a match towards end of the season and Scarborough had a FA Trophy Final to play,Neil Warnock.was there.
