Garry Flitcroft- Chorley. Has taken them up and his teams score goals. What do you reckon Aitchy lad. ;)

or Andy Legg- has got highest level UEFA coaching badges according to wiki. Probably would love a crack at the Barrow job. Always liked his condtructive views when co- commentating on our games.

Just someone that is not connected with the club- bringing a whole new outlook.

that's the two who spring to mind initially.

Meechan will get it.
But i'd prefer a change and a new fresh outlook.
Not Darren Edmondson, he's achieved nothing at Workington with plenty of time. His radio interviews prove he's not for us. Same old record.

Young manager recently retired from playing with plenty of league experience and sound reputation. Preferably someone who wants a career in management/coaching and has shown a desire to pursue that i.e. got himself qualled up, shadowed other coaches, taken some coaching responsibilities at his existing club or managed a smaller non league club
.
Dont know who fits that bill but thats what we should be looking for. But as mentioned meechs will get it and I think we should all get behind him. Lets wipe the slate clean and start enjoying supporting barrow again!

Not true. The club has a monthly playing budget which any future manager can use how he sees fit.
Stick it all on red and keep going until the club is rich or ruined!

Will be names that no doubt get mentioned at some point.
Sorry i cant be arsed reading the thread so sorry if this has popped up already.

Flitcroft would be an amazing coup, and with him Jansen.

But them going to Barrow may be a step slightly down for the work they have done at Chorley.

+1

I really hope not, we need a complete break from the previous management set up. I hope the BoDs don't take this easy option.

Edmo - NO!! it will be a single step away from what we had with DB.

Agree with you there Spirit

Meechan is one of those snidey types - if his on-pitch antics are anything to go by then we dont want that attitude on the management bench.
He's always having a dig at the opposition ("go on then, try to [SwearFilter] get past me") and the officials (you're a little bit embarrassed by that decision aint yer liner) are a couple that spring to mind. That's old-school mentality. This is 2013. Fresh blood needed.

we need somebody with the attitude of vic halom(best manager we have had imo) his team entertained and never gave up 3nil down once still won!

all the players got on with/respected him, always had time to chat and explain things to you,he even used to get the players to stay over sometimes and go round the town and have a craic with the fans,he was like a breath of fresh air and EVERYONE believed they were a part of his plans.

if he hadn`t have left i really believe we would have got back into the league.

anyway board take your time with the decision.

The BOD need to sell the club to the new manager which with all the negativity around the place must be a job and a half, I reckon they'll play safe and give the job to Meechan & Redhead as assistant, They need to grow some balls and pick the best man for the job and stop the rot

Hope Ian Bogie applies for the job. Good manager with good N/East connections.

Really don't want Meechan, need a fresh start
I'd like to see Gary Lowe get it but I suspect Jim Harvey will be the boards choice

Judging by this I suspect Harvey will be applying, be disappointed if he gets it personally.

Maybe a complete long shot but maybe Sammy McIlroy or Nicky Mellon?
