My Money is on Andy Preece - ex Northwich and Worcester Manager - currently director of fooball at Airbus UK.

I'd love someone like Jonah or Hulbert, but I think now is the time for a hand on the reins with some managerial experience. As we've seen, passion for the club alone isn't quite enough.

Marginson has a great non league track record. Would command compensation from FC Utd, but stranger things have happened. He is an ex BAFC player, young and would have great contacts. We are a level above FC Utd of Manchester - and it doesnt look like they are going to be going up this season (low mid table) He has been there a while, and Barrow could be a good change. As far as I am aware - he is a full time employee of FC Utd - and does coaching in the community during the week.

Andy Preece - Great contacts and could be looking to get back into management. Has non league experience - including taking Northwich to 3rd round of FA Cup a few seasons ago.

Lets be real - we are not giong to attract the big names - Lawson from Skelmsdale would be another decent option.

Jim Harvey, former Stalybridge manager?

Jimmy Harvey is a good shout but another possible option with a current Morecambe connection is their reserve team manager and still first team player Steward Drummond. Only problem could be that he's someone who prefers 'pure' football and therefore our league may be too physical for his style. Living in Morecambe he's fairly local.

Jim Harvey for me for his record with Morecambe or Lee Ashcroft who did very well for Kendal despite only having a buget of 3 meat and potato and 1 minced beef and onion pies

Karl Marginson might of done well getting FC United out of the North West Counties Leagues but so he should with gates of 2000/3000. They haven't managed to get out of the Evostick Premier for a number of seasons now despite surely having by far the biggest budget.

Preece would be my number one choice.When Guiseley equalised on Sat. I switched RC off and tuned in to the Airbus game on S4C. Bolly and Peo at the heart of the defence and YJO throwing himself about in midfield. They appeared to be enjoying their football. Airbus are still unbeaten this season in a league which despite all the sideswipes can't be much weaker than the Skrill North. One drawback is he has already been linked with vacancies at two of his former clubs Carlisle and Stockport without any permanent moves. Is that because he didn't want to leave/priced himself out of the market etc.Lets hope this is step one on the road to recovery.
