Southwards just need to man-up and get on with it. Too many catering snowflakes on this forum.

Have I got that about right?

Club should put out to tender . Guessing that no local companies will apply now... why didn't Delish want to supply pies anymore?
Probably because every company the club use don’t get paid? Wasn’t that the case for the dunes? Hence why they got the stadium sponsor

Surely those who have a franchise pay the club, not the other way round.

Agreed; they made a decent takings after the kick off was delayed by an hour and a half, then get an email stating the club has decided to go with someone else, so decided to whine about it online to all the fans, and even post the email, Big fkin deal, it’s the game that counts. If people care that much go on takeaway reviews in Cumbria.

4 pages about a burger van.

What a fanbase, what a club!

It seems some people here aren't too bothered about the quality of catering at Barrow. Quality catering at football matches can only be seen as a positive; see @footyscran on twitter for example; Kidderminster are notorious for their cottage pies, and of course there are many others. These do attract people to their clubs who may not have otherwise gone.
In our case, Southwards seems to have been 'replaced' by a nondescript 'Costa' outlet providing overpriced 'snacks' and drinks. Whether you eat at the soccer or not, I can't see how this is a positive for the club. Fortunately Southwards are still just down the road, where they are still offering their usual burgers/chips as well as venison burgers, which you're unlikely to find at Costa. Better promotion of the food that 'was' available through Southwards while they were on site was an opportunity missed imo.

We went to hospitality in January, was great food, I posted it on the FB Cumbria review site, I didn’t keep moaning/discussing the food on a football forum. As the saying goes “suck it up, buttercup”

It seems that 'discussing the food on a football forum' is exactly what you're doing, buttercup :D

I too was a fan of Southwards burgers etc having kept banging on about having a van in the fanzone to provide an alternative to the then crap pies Harry was getting from Morecambe.(Browns are much better).I have spoken to two people in official capacities (not the man in bread isle at Asda’s) about this unexpected development as to why this has developed.
The explanation i was given is that the vendor was not complying with payment agreement made to the club .The matter may possibly have been resolved now but caused the change.I have pointed out that burgers ,pies ,hot dogs, chips are staple football food and that panini from Costa van won’t bring in the money that is now being lost by people going to soccer bar to drink whilst enjoying southwards hospitality. It may be that another supplier is being sourced and the Costa van is a temporary measure. What I think was an oversight is that no one thought to inform the people running the food outlets in ground so they didn’t order extra pies so I do hope all those who were hungry were succesful.Sure things will get sorted soon just as well not too many home games left .Next season am sure things be better.
We really need to improve our communication lines within all departments I think but we will get there.

I believe Harry got the pies from The Pork Shop at Poulton le fylde. A company he dealt with when he worked for Blackpool FC. The Costa van today actually came from Workington, and I believe is here for the remainder of the season. Be interesting what the fan survey revealed about catering needs ?
