Pete wild said Bennett out 8-10 weeks. CF is priority but has to be one that fits the way he wants to play
Worrying the plans not working very well .
We play lower league teams to get fitness and Bennett is put out for so long by a bad tackle.

When we play teams around our level we are beaten by wonder strikes in both games, is that not another way of saying we did not close them down.

Last season we had lots of possession but it came to nothing and the table reflected that.
A week away we have lost one of our main threats in Bennett and no one to replace him.
I thought the Sporting Director and Assistant Manager would have had contacts but it seems we are struggling.

Before the crew of the Titanic start hurling abuse there needs to be a reality check .Iceberg what iceberg.
Bradford have invested a lot in their squad and are considered favourites for promotion this season

They lost 3-0 against Chesterfield of the national league

In 1994/95 Blackburn rovers lost every single pre-season friendly
They went on to win the premier league

The season we won promotion to the football league we lost to the Furness select at Holker street 2-1
We also picked up 7pts from the first 9 games

If you’re concerned on the back of pre-season friendly results perhaps you should just give up on watching football

Just watched Pete Wild's interview and he looked a bit rattled. It looked like his best made plans are going a bit awry.In a,way he knows we need a big centre forward to start knocking the balls into the back of the net.He knows it and we know it.I think we are all going to have a little bit of patience until things start to fall into place. He has the making of being a very good manager for Barrow and I think once he finds that big guy up front the results will come,so we have to give him a chance.

Well said Pedro you really are such a wet blanket at times.I was at both matches and can assure you whatever the result this team played better than last season and from what has been on show so far they are fitter faster none of the sidewise clueless play of last season.
We may not race out the blocks fast against so called bigger teams we meet early in season but there is more effort a s skill on show now.Yes we need another decent striker striker and Bennet to make speedy recovery but i have more confidence in them to survive in this league on this early showing..The glass is half full not empty !

If you listen to the interview he did with me when it’s released you’ll see he’s not bothered about the size of the centre forward
He knows we need another centre forward but is willing to wait till the right ones available
He’s not going to rush and certainly isn’t bothered about how big they are he just wants the one which suits his plans and ideas

I usually do look on the half empty side .
I will take all the stick I get but I am worried that it's a third season without a goal scorer.
The let's play lower league teams to get fitness has resulted in the long term Bennett injury

You can run around as much as you want but the balls got to go in the net.

The previous game Bradford had beaten a team two leagues above them in Sunderland a Championship side.

A element of complacency may have been the case when you listen to Mark Hughes after the game.

I realise we beat the mighty North Shields and managed to get a long term injury to Bennett when it was arranged for fitness purposes that worked well.

As for giving up on football I've only followed one team since 1967 and unlike a wife not as easy to get rid of.

Half empty is way off the mark. Consistently negative Pedro. Give us all a lift and say something favourable for a change. If you actually attend games I wouldn't want to sit or stand anywhere near you. Also before you go on about supporting the team since 1967, a lot of people, me included, have been going longer than that.

We beat South Shields who maybe a NPL side they are a team with money and ambitions so in stature of club they are higher than people give them credit for.

Players can get Injured at any time regardless of who they face.

Ahhh so when we lose we’re going to get relegated but when mark Hughes loses its complacency?

Bit of a contradiction that Pedro

Adam all I want is that Barrow succeed.
In the bad days after being kicked out of the league i stood on the terraces when 7000 supposed supporters evaporated.
I watched the likes of Peter Kane struggle to get players and had to play himself.

The lower league games were supposed to be for fitness but I may be wrong but the Bennett tackle was a Sunday league one by all accounts.

We will have to agree to disagree .
Yes everyone is after a goal scorer but our Director of Foitball and Assistant Manager should have connections.

A week away and we still do not have another forward.

The Bennett tackle was a foul by Bennett which resulted in a free kick for South Shields

Now a sob story as well as ultra negative. Bloody hell Pedro, you need an overdose of the introspective juice. Please say something supportive and positive on here, and I, for one, will rejoice.

Was very impressed with Whitfield first half in particular as well, looked very lively. After the stale football last year made a nice change to see someone take on their defender.
Hardly rocket science here but it’s plainly obvious we need another striker, Waters did ok, some decent runs in behind where no-one played the pass quickly enough but he didn’t scream out that he was the 20 goal man we are looking for
We have an embarrassment of riches in central midfield. The 3 you mention plus Rooney, Nwaboukai and White. The defence also looks very sound. We also look O.K. for wide players with Whitfield, Stevens, Kay and possibly Gotts might play wide as there plenty of other good central midfield players. I agree that we need another striker although expecting a 20 goal man is asking an awful lot! I think it's shaping up to be a lot better squad than we had last season.

The bookies on average now have us third favourites for the drop. This is an improvement. We were the out and out favourites to finish bottom until recently. https://www.oddschecker.com/football/en ... e-2/winner

Personally I don't think anything can be gleaned about new season until seven or eight games have been played. Also most teams including us are likely to make more signings before the end of August. Far too early to panic.
Where odds are quoted for us we are favourite to go down in every case. To keep it simple this is to finish bottom.
Thanks. Not being a betting man myself, I thought that the promotion odds were a mirror image of the relegation odds. If that makes any kind of sense.

Question for Pedro, Which would you prefer, We take any striker who is available now just to fill the role, Or We wait until we find the right type that’s more suited to Pete’s ethos even if we start the season without him & play 1 or 2 games until we bag our man?
