What is wrong with 4 lighting POLES opposite your Stand and 4 Stand stub POLES roof mounted? Modern lamps give out the required Lumens at the shorter height with far less power consumption that those 4 giant Martian ray throwers.

I think the roof mounted options could work on the main stand, picking up on the stand columns at each end and in the centre and would also be future proof if plans to extend the main stand full length ever happen. Has been done at Cappielow Park, Greenock Morton. This could also utilise the best of the existing lamps, plus possibly the 20 floodlights donated from Everton. As for Poles in front of the stand. Big no ta from me as it's more obstructed views and would feel distinctly like a "make do" option and not sure it fits with any grander redevelopment plans. The frustrating thing is we have one perfectly good and fully functioning floodlight in the ASDA / Crossbar corner. Three more of those would be ideal and should be the only quote required, or one more for the Holker End / Garage corner and explore that roof idea further for the main stand.

I'm sure I read or heard say that 4 columns sited on the 18 yd lines were the plan? I guess it's not as simple as just digging 4 holes and planting 4 columns in. There has to be ground surveys, electric supplies arranged, plus non of the work can be done during the season but after it finishes. It then has to be planned around access onto the pitch because of end of season work on the turf, and the dismantling of the current pylons.. and as AS said, we don't get two chances at this one, have to get it right 1st time....

Spot on them, full length of pitch when we get the stand extended.. Doesnt have to be like that frame, just an example of putting new light systems on existing stands.

I was thinking more like our roof top poles. Not the eyesore roof staging. OK when the stand is extended?

I hope that the new floodlights will fit in with the plans for the stadium development because we were originally told this was one of the reasons for the delay !

That word 'delay' Nige seemed to remind of a certain thing that was mentioned a couple of years or so ago in terms of taking down the old floodlight towers.
I am almost sure someone said that the club had to give seven or eight weeks notice to Cumbria County Council to close the road(s) for safety reasons so removal can take place !.

Floodlight pylons"are" coming down, they've been condemned/not safe - to be replaced by single poles in each corner.
This was stated pre season, but there's been various delays etc etc as mentioned previously in this thread.
Where've you been - hibernating -, this is common knowledge.
