Floodlights

Are you lads going to get your floodlights sorted ahead of the Impvasion and the BT Sports cameras on the 24th?

We'll have to or else there won't be an impvasion. Bargain £5 coach fare

Yes I hope so. In other news. abandoned Nene park, is set to be demolished. Is it worth seeing if we can have the floodlights and get them transported up here.

No
Why no, if they are available, it may be a cost effective solution.

To pay to take them down, transportation costs ,cost of erecting them , life left in them don't forget we have got the new ones on order and they ready to be installed, that's what we were informed .

As I said if it's cost effective? You're too quick to dismiss it. Didn't FC United buy a complete stand from Northwich. These things do happen you know. In fact, there's a thought.....

"new ones on order and ready to be installed",well they want to make it quick because the cage on the tower that stands on Wilkie Road next to the XBar was moving quite a bit in that wind a few days ago,I noticed it walking back from asda.

That's quite some movement if it was walking back from asda ;-)

Wasn't it 'out to tender'?
On 24th November K_BFC wrote:Last I heard about the floodlights was from Mr Casson himself while he was the co-commentator at a home game a number of matches ago. When asked during the game about the flood lights I recall him saying there was a problem with the footings or something similar. A lot of work was needed first and they needed a company to take the job on. They had put the job out to tender hoping a local outfit would get involved. Only no one came forward, so they didn't have anyone to do the job at that time. Don't know what has happened since then.

Why cant we just Buy Nene Park and ship it up North. They had real toilets, proper refreshment facilities and an electronic scoreboard. Would be happy to bring it up in the back of a Ford Transit if necessary. It would however take a few trips so I might need some help with the petrol.

Cracking stadium was Nene Park. Seems a right waste to bulldoze it.

It appears there was a problem in the electrical room, this was due to be looked in to today by a local company. We don't think the problem is anything to do with the floodlights themselves, mainly the circuitry.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

It was really dark in the corner by the traffic lights but that was not the only issue Ian.
Sat in the stand when it went dark in the second half a lot of the lights on the new pylon were shining directly into the grandstand and not down on the pitch.
People were having to shade their eyes.
The lux levels in some areas of the pitch are surely not upto permitted levels.
I don't think that would be a circuitry problem.
Maybe some lights moved in the strong winds.
