I assume the area in main stand allocated to them is not being extended?Just want to make sure my friends can get their usual tkts as club don’t have them printed tofar in advance.Need we get them early?

I think it is perfectly right to try and accommodate as many visiting fans as possible but not at the expense of a considerable number of home fans who always stand at the holker st end because they don't like the restricted view you get under the Wilkie stand. There is always a greater home attendance for the last game so it will be very crowded on that side of the ground. Especially if the cut off point is the gate at the end of the covered area. It does appear the attraction of all the extra revenue has outweighed any consideration for home supporters and is quite disappointing to say the least.

It's one game Colin. What do you want Barrow AFC to do, turn away fans and lose much needed revenue. We always whinge at the lack of away support at Holker Street and when it looks like we may get a good number we whinge again.

Really?? The club getting an extra £6,500 from those 500 away tickets i would say is far more important than a "restricted" (there isn't many restricted views at HS) view for one game. The Pop side is perfectly fine. Was the same when we sell out for games e.g. Rochdale a few seasons ago.

If we were expecting 3,000 home fans to turn up, you might have a point, but that isn't going to happen. No Barrow fans will be missing out. You would rather 500+ people didn't come so that you can stand where you normally do?

In 12 months time we could be looking at the football league, Hartlepool just shows that if we were in the league and playing northern clubs this would be normal so stop your moaning and get real we want away fans attending our home games more the merrier, the club just can`t win with some of our fans, what with the new board and manager hopefully extending his contract the future looks bright.

This will help the new board in match day managememt of a bigger away following. Last time we had over 1000 away fans was Darlington and it was well managed but the infrastructure hasn’t changed much since then. Two turnstiles, Two toilets. It highlights how desperate the ground is for upgrades but the club will manage it through planning for it now. However, if we really are serious about FL then these bigger away followings may need to be managed more often. That terrace could comfortably accommodate 3-4000 fans but with no roof, no crush barriers, lack of turnstiles, exits and sanitation, it is restricted to what it is.

No, it wasn’t.

At least this time we’ll know how many are coming so we can plan properly. Darlo was more fluid as their situation was unravelling through the week up to the game.

Ok I mean the club managed it well on the day with not knowing exactly how many would turn up. It was pay on the gate and they all got in through two turnstiles in time for kick off, made do with two bogs and a handful of stewards. The segregation scaffold was a bit wider than the current set up and they just about reached the far side of the HSE goal post, with none reaching around the corner to the pop side. Reason that’s worth noting is that it indicates just how much space there actually is on the HSE and the capacity could increase quite significantly if the terrace was updated with more turnstiles, exit points, barriers and a roof. It’s easily a 2000+ terrace If was brought up to standards.

It's difficult because they aren't used to managing big away followings but it has been poor at times. It has historically often ended with issues between the club and it's own fans, because people in authority are under pressure and react badly or make mistakes. Also, we all care about how the club looks and will waste hours typing out views on the internet like I am now.

But we are in a better place. All I can say is that, as far as I can tell, efforts are being made on all sides to make sure we manage it better this time. And there's plenty of opportunity for us to help with that, either on a Sunday or the day itself.
