Hartlepool fancy dress last home game

Post by cottingham bluebird » Wed Mar 27, 2019 8:22 pm

Our last home game is hartlepools last away game.
They used to take a good following to last away game and all come in fancy dress
Does anyone know if that still happens.
I could be a bumper crowd for our last home game.

It has been done for the last nine seasons. One thing that could reduce the number of travelling fans could be the engineering works over easter making it impossible to get from Hartlepool to Barrow and back by train.

If they came to Barrow from Hartlepool why would they want to go back?

They had 710 tickets last year.
As its the fancy dress game i would of thought 800 wasnt too far off.
Of course you seem to know better so we will bow to your superior knowledge and social skills

Let’s hope they bring as many as possible & have a great day out (apart from the result) as it would be a nice bit of end of season income for the club.

They might of had 710 tickets but they didn’t bring 710 supporters to holker street.
I’d say they will bring anywhere between 150-200

For their last away game of the season?

Hartlepool United??

You're way out with that assumption. Way, way out.

They take a lot on these jobs. Not for me (up there with the Ebbsfleet drummer and bugler IMHO) but it's a 'thing' they do now so I'd be thinking 400 odd.

As the train from Hartlepool to Barrow takes five hours or more each way and probably involves three or four changes, I would suspect that a coach may be a more tempting - and cheaper - option.

That's always assuming that the trains can negotiate the inevitable Bank Holiday engineering works.

Anyone know what the actual purpose of this is? Annual fundraiser maybe? Or just the pure thrill of dressing up as a clown for the day?!.
