Home results are just dire and we always seem to concede late goals. We all knew Fleetwood were going to come right back into the game second half. 14 games to go, I can’t see us winning more then two of them.
Proper doom and gloom. I don’t see us going on a run like some of the other teams are doing. I really do hope I’m wrong.
I really wish I disagreed, but I don’t. We have kick started Shrewsbury and Harrogate into survival and, unlike those teams, I don’t believe we have the grit or determination to survive. I think it will be us and Newport that go down. If we are to have any form of success or stability next season, the majority of this squad needs to go.
Agree people on here thinking Dino can work miracles, we've got a chance when we have our strongest team available, but that hasn't happened for numerous reasons signing injury prone players, training methods and how we prepare players plus we have insisted that they play a system that means if you don't play a high press it becomes a defensive system, that's why we concede late goals and make mistakes because our defence just isn't good enough to pass the ball around and are resolute in defending it happened against Colchester but even then we got lucky!
I honestly don't buy into this showing heart fight etc.
Through no fault of their own we've recruited players who just aren't like that so unless we get key players back and change the system ( we can't) then we've had it ,that's not me being pessimistic it's just a reality we have to accept.
Whatever happens recruitment and change of system needs to be addressed by the board because it's obvious that they agree with this system we're playing ( still dreaming of how Evatt played, that was a one off unless you buy quality players not lower a budget and expect different to this season!)

Ah well, in reality, suppose it does take the cold hard facts to be spoken.
Thinking twice about going now on Saturday, what's the point really?

Showing heart and fight is the only thing that’s going to get us out of this now. Systems won’t change a players decision to get in closer and make a challenge or bust a gut to stop a move building up. Systems won’t change whether a player is brave enough to take on a shot without needing an extra touch or a pass, or attack a 50/50 ball. It’s 100% on this group of players now.

Mid-table Gillingham nothing really to play for could be a positive for us.Safe in the league. Not going up or down.

True, but look at what happened last weekend against Fleetwood...

Can’t disagree with anything that been said but it’s never over till it’s over. I’m sticking with it regardless of how painful it is.
42 points still to play for, 8 home games and 6 away of course it’ll be monumental but we’ve got to stick with Dino and believe he can do it starting Saturday.

IIRC we’ve a good record against the Gills.

Season Ticket over here pal, so I feel obligated to go.
Although just lately, it's become a chore to actually haul my ass along.

See you there?

If that's the case Jonty just why then are we in the position we're in now ,of course it's the system, if you haven't got the quality it's not going to happen you're letting your heart rule your head!

There was nothing wrong with the system in the first 45minutes on Saturday

They didn’t change system in the second half

The issue was the players themselves started sitting deeper and weren’t doing the things that they’d done so well In the first half

So yes Jonty is correct

Nigel, You have argued the system point all season and I don't disagree with you, but we haven't recruited for it. If it comes down to us or Newport in the final game, then I know what will win it. It’s 100% on the players now.

Yep our destiny as a football league club is firmly in the players collective ability in carrying out Dino’s instructions. What could possibly go wrong😮
