That’s one way of looking at it, Another is lots of players are asking for silly money as our Managenent team have already said & when they don’t get picked up they eventually settle for what’s on offer, Happens all the time & probably more so during Covid.

This doesn’t mean they are not going to bust a gut for who they sign for.

It's also an opportunity for someone who thinks they should be playing higher to fight their way back.
All players hold out for what they think is the best deal. It's a short career.

See the point though. Just think there's room for one or two as long as they aren't bad eggs. For example, Anthony Stokes has just torn up his Livingston contract, which wouldnt be miles from our budget. Would he be good for 6 months? No way hes crackers. Is he an upgrade as a player? Absolutely

There's also the compatability factor. Choosing a player in the right frame of mind is important for a happy changing room. One disruptive player can make for an unsettled side.
We appear to have the right mix of lads who get on well together and hopefully work hard for each other.
We just have to put our faith in the management team to choose wisely.

Absolutely correct. There is absolutely no such thing as loyalty in football where money is concerned. 99.9% of footballers will move to any club which will pay them more money. Very rarely you will get a case such as Grealish who has just signed a 5 year contract at Villa when he almost certainly could have gone to a higher profile club. However, he will be getting paid a very high salary to stay and almost certainly would have left if he had been given a much higher offer elsewhere. They are all "loyal" when they stay as just as "loyal" to their next club when they move on. The best you can hope for is that they do their best when they play for your club and I think we are well served in that respect.
