What is going on?
What is going on?
Thought I'd have a look at the hospitality packages on the main site.
It's still showing last season's info. Do we have a commercial manager?

Re: What is going on?
It's been raised many a time that the commercial site hasn't been updated for months.
Popular side since '03.

Re: What is going on?
i think they have lost the password to that site (doesn't look like its been updated since Gloucester home game) - there appears to be some details on the main site tho
is there an email address for someone at the club maybe even Paul Casson where I can share some thoughts and constructive ideas about the commercial side of the club ? I don't want to send it to someone for it to be deleted

Steve Casson wrote:I want them both to feel like there’s a bond with the club and that Barrow AFC are going to invest in the community, with the sponsors and fans being part of that. This relationship creates deeper and deeper roots in people.
None of this seems to have happened.Steve Casson wrote:I want to set up a membership programme for kids who get their own club, called something like Junior Bluebirds.
They’d be a member of that club, so they’d have a little membership card and when they come to the games they’d have their own space and deal.
Maybe a player can meet them and we could hand out T-shirts, hats, etc.
In terms of merchandise, I’ve thought about bringing out limited edition type things – maybe on a monthly or bi-weekly basis – that are sort of fun, interesting or ironic. They’d be items that are unique.
A sponsor could come in and basically sponsor a T-shirt and we could do T-shirt giveaways because a sponsor is going to put their name on the back and offset the costs. The front of the T-shirt will have whatever design.
I don’t want it to be just like Groundhog Day where fans come to the game, go to the bar and go home – the same thing repeating itself 20-odd times.
Steve Casson wrote:We want more sponsors and more diversity, you want every single kind of thing to be sponsored and for somebody to say, ‘we want to be a part of that’.
Why would any potential sponsor want to be associated to a club that doesnt respond to emails, has an empty club shop and has a website that is never updated?
I emailed Steve Cassons club email address over one week ago to tell him about how he lost out on £500+ worth of corporate hospitality money and the terrible customer service given from the club who just seemed #notarsed at all. Needless to say Ive not had a reply or even a confirmation to say he has even received it and is being dealt with .Steve Casson wrote:A lot of it will be based on feedback as well – you just have to watch and ask, ‘what’s missing?’.
Nothing seems to be getting done at the club. Granted, for all I know there might be loads of things behind the scenes going on but we are never told or made aware. Is it that hard to do a newsletter on the main site weekly letting the fans knonw whats going on over the summer / throughout the season?
If hes missing out on the little things I pray for the big aspects of the club commercially.

Re: What is going on?
I think the football/playing side of things are coming together nicely for the start of the new season. As for the commercial side of things.................I'm sorry its not happening at the moment and will take a while longer.( But it shouldn't for a club of this size )
for the squad.
for commercial
Re: What is going on?
There was a note on the club's normal website headed Hospitality And Sponsorship Opportunities which had this, Prior to formal updating of the Commercial Section of the Barrow AFC website, please find below hospitality and sponsorship opportunities. Further information can be obtained by contacting the club: Telephone: 01229 823061, email: office@barrowafc.com
So assume the matter is still in hand, . . . . .

Re: What is going on?
I generally fit into the category sometimes described on here as a 'Happy Clapper' and willing to give the new regime the benefit of the doubt but this is becoming more than embarrassing now

I don't belieeeeeeeve it!

Re: What is going on?
I don't need to have a look at the commercial website, I was being sarcastic here, and through the HSN have raised the matter of the commercial website being out of date for well over six months now.The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:Standard defence of the club again.Ralph wrote:There was a note on the club's normal website headed Hospitality And Sponsorship Opportunities which had this, Prior to formal updating of the Commercial Section of the Barrow AFC website, please find below hospitality and sponsorship opportunities. Re: What is going on?
It's been getting mentioned for months, I really don't know how a buisness man like Paul Casson allows it.
There's still links to coral on it,and a picture of Gary hunter, Adam boyes and Mike peo.
The official site isn't much better with izaak Reid and Sean Riley on it.
It's not difficult to update things is it.

Re: What is going on?
There are some sections of the Official Site that haven't been updated since 2010 (the bit about Away Fans being located on the West Terrace between the Cross Bar & Main Stand). This season there's gonna be quite a lot of new away fans who could end up in the wrong part of the ground if they read that as I imagine quite a few will read it.
There are so many other things they could put on there but they don't - an announcement about the shirts arriving and being different sizes to normal and including the actual sizes of the shirts would be a useful one? There seems to be so many people at the club yet nobody seems responsible for updating the website on a regular basis or answering all the various emails.
Surely now that Austin Straker is taking over he will start looking at these things? The lack of communication from the club is one thing that hasn't changed yet Casson promised it would. It has cost the club thousands in cash as well as lots of good will and it clearly doesn't show any sign of improving. That level of cash may seem like small change to PC and I'm surprised he's allowed things to get into this state because to regular fans this has become a running joke.

Re: What is going on?
It is very frustrating that the club is wide open to this kind of criticism time and again, but there's nothing new being said here.
There is a message saying that the Commercial section of the website is being updated, however the whole sites needs maintaining throughout the season, not just at the start.
Beyond the scrolling home pages nearly all the sub-sections do not appear to be updated. They are buried in the website- unloved and unused. Get rid of them if they add no value
5 years this conversation has been going on. It's not new.
even the team line up profiles are shown as "2014/15"- surely this is visible to the administrators and surely it can be updated very easily?

There seems to be a few people in the club on a day to day basis? Surely someone is responsible for the website?
For what its worth, i think the website is actually pretty decent, just needs updating! Doesnt take 5 minutes to whip up a paragraph saying 'We now have 2015/16 season shirts in stock, pop into the club shop to purchase one' We dont want anything amazing, just the odd update of whats going on would be nice
