Edmo has 5 match touchline ban for sexist comments
One or two have mentioned about Edmo being in the stand. He is actually banned from the touchline for the first five games of this season for a comment about a girlie linesman/woman last season.

Re: Forest Green v Barrow match thread
Well I didn't know that,
Thursday 9 July
Darren Edmondson, Manager, Barrow AFC
Gainsborough Trinity FC v Barrow AFC
Football Conference North, 6 December 2014
Breach of FA Rule E3 - It is alleged that during the above mentioned fixture, Mr Edmondson used abusive and/or insulting language in respect of the Assistant Referee, contrary to Rule E3(1). It is further alleged that this breach of Rule E3(1) is an “Aggravated Breach” of Rule E3(2), as it included a reference to gender
Charge denied and personal hearing requested
Charge proven. Edmondson was given a five-match touchline ban from start of the 2015/2016 season, fined £1,500 and ordered to pay costs of £1,500, and ordered to complete an education course within four months. Failure to comply will result in an immediate suspension from all football activity

Interesting that (afaik) there was no coverage of that in the NWEM, particularly considering how at that time they seemed to have the inside track on all our prospective signings.boyliegladbach wrote:Thursday 9 July

Interesting to read the full evidence and particularly who it came from. Not ,apparently, an offence reported by the match officials.

Shocking that being in a position of responsibility and using sexist language so much for being a 'family club'.
Clear to see the evening mail are under the clubs thumb if they dont report this in the next few days.
Yet they use half a page story when a fan swears.
One rule for one another rule for others.

Re: Edmo 5 match touchline ban for sexist comments
Looks like Edmo and the club have been found out!!! No mentions of that anywhere is there?
The Mail are first to splash the story everywhere when its anything to do with fans yet an even bigger story when its the manager making sexist comments and being banned from the touchline for 5 matches as a result and they don't say a word? This should be a big story for them and it isn't mentioned, £3,000 is a lot to pay - wonder if Paul Casson/the club has paid that or Edmo had to pay it himself?

Found out!
See he's denied it too only to be found guilty later on once the evidence was produced.
How odd it is it hasn't been reported, especially as mentioned that our fans get hauled over the coals for minor incidents compared to this.

I sit in the stand at home games and questioned re Edmo sat in the stand.I was told about the ban,but I did think it must be widely known and it was my fault for living 25 miles away.It appears not many know.
Re: Edmo has 5 match touchline ban for sexist comments
I hope he paid it himself.
Popular side since '03.

This stinks.
£3k fine for words.
No evidence.
And an education course... What are they even thinking? Stalin could learn a few lessons off these lot.

Should have been fired, bad for the club this we could have appointed someone with a record in non league management and with no pay off required to Edmonson shame..

Re: Edmo has 5 match touchline ban for sexist comments
Can't understand people on here wanting any excuse to have a go at Edmo and suggesting he should have been sacked. Reading the full report on the FA site the evidence seems flimsy at best. It looks like they prefer to believe a pair of solicitors who's evidence is inconsistent and at times contradictory because they are solicitors. I wonder if the match video could have had its sound enhanced to see if it picked anything up as it appears to have been taken from that part of the stand?
Re: Edmo has 5 match touchline ban for sexist comments
If I make a story up about someone and my wife supports me (even if not consistent) then they are guilty. That's how it sounds like the FA treat things anyway.
Re: Edmo has 5 match touchline ban for sexist comments
I'm not convinced that the evidence would be sufficient in a court of law. A Gainsborough supporter, her husband, and a third witness who didn't actually hear the alleged comments. I think the two differing descriptions of Edmo as "bulky" and "quite skinny" are a bit more than a trivial inconsistency.Jim wrote:Interesting to read the full evidence and particularly who it came from. I'm also surprised to learn that Edmo has a connection with 'Workington Town Football Club' !

Re: Edmo has 5 match touchline ban for sexist comments
So these two sponsors/fans watched Gainsborough v Barrow and decided to make up a sexist comment?
