RC were implying the Ref rushed over as if cards weregoing to be shown & mentioned that both feet were off the ground as he flew into the tackle, then nothing?

Was it a bad tackle or just an unfortunate coming together?

All the best for your recovery Neil! On radio sounded like the ref was going in back pocket for the red card, but changed his mind. Must admit we have no luck in injury department. Got to have effected the game what ever anyone says.

Without a doubt Ashton's injury was a game changer; as worryingly we have no LB cover - can we bring in a loan player?

Yes, we can sign a loan player. The tackle didn't look 'that' bad, and I think most would have honestly said a yellow would be fair - for such a bad injury, he carried on playing for a bit before going down.
George Williams was shocking at left-back, and seemed afraid to tackle with his wrong foot.

NWA would be perfect.

Goods news about the loan situation. George Williams isn't a LB coupled with the fact he was booked probably contributed to his difficult afternoon for the team. To be even handed Symo was very poor defensively so the club could have major issues in the near future if Ashton is out for weeks and Williams loan is not extended

Ashtons injury was a pivotal point of the game. Even Wrexham fans recognise that. A couple of snips from their forum ' Ashton had York in his pocket and it wouldn't have been a surprise if he'd been hooked at half-time.'The young lad who replaced him was clearly not a left back and York came to life tieing him in knots time after time'. There was also the small matter of Edmos tactical plan going up in smoke. Cookie a lone striker with a packed midfield behind him may not have been pretty but it was effective. Without a straight swap for a left-sided defender it meant a complete re-shuffle which we never recovered from.The irony was that two of the goals were conceded in time added-on indirectly due to Ashtons injury.
