NEW raise the roof

Was in discussion recently with a couple of work colleagues,and one asked about the “raise the roof “ fund we once had. Got me thinking,would be a good idea if we brought back something similar,to raise some funds for the club,a gesture to PC who does put a lot of his own cash into the club.With a new year nearly upon us was thinking we could possibly start it In January, then come December time have a vote on how best to use the cash, wether ground improvements or even purchasing a player,
“The 200 club” we get 200 supporters to donate £10 a month,have 5 monthly draws of a £100 and the remaining £1500 goes into an account.Would soon amount up, £18,000 a year.

If you want to run a lottery based thing I would aim at a pound a week payable each month. Door collection or standing order. Latter preferably. I work a bit for chorley doing the black and white lottery and it's very successful. Probably something the trust could do. Start small with smaller monthly prizes and build it up. We also run a successful business lottery which is 5 quid a week you get a free pair of tickets and a certificate for your business to show support. Canvassing is a bitch as lots give to St Catherine's (St Mary's there) and air ambulance. Good idea though. Pm if I can help at all.

Did it very quickly at Chorley, someone left some money and the rest was quickly raised, do not think grants available for 5 years due to the floodlights and hopefully next used on the crossbar end. I got some costs a few years back from 2 agricultural steelwork firms for a 20m centre section and they came on site to assess. Around 20k for starters and so set inside the ground like the Joe Jackson end at Stalybridge...they said it could be done...also Mike Forsyth advised about a potential capacity reduction cant remember the reasons at the time

Calm down calm down, Im fully aware we are not skint. Just thought it was away us supporters could contribute.I know its not for everyone I do appreciate £10 is a lot to some.

People pay £14 a fortnight. I'm sure they wouldn't contribute via the club shop, if we had some decent merchandise.
