Evatt revisiting

Post by Hitthebar22 » Sun Jul 11, 2021 2:42 pm

It’s less than a fortnight until Bolton come up here for the friendly. Presuming that there will be supporters in the ground, I wonder what sort of collective reception Evatt will receive? For my part, I was disappointed about the way in which he left, but he did marvellous things for us, so I will be clapping him rather than booing him. Time is a healer. I wonder what others think? Personally I think for the whole stadium to applaud him when the teams come out would be an appropriate gesture. On TV, minutes after being promoted to L1 with Bolton he mentioned how much he owed to having been at Barrow.

Can't believe anyone would want to do anything but welcome a former manager who returned us to the League after so many years.

Only utter & complete MORONS would boo the Man who shook us by the boot laces & took us to the place we longed to be L2.

Yes he promised us 1 more year but he did what we wanted & surely we will give a a very warm welcome back, He deserves that.

He is right up there with Don McAvoy & Ray Wilkie for me.

Welcome back Ian & thanks for everything.

Ian Evatt achieved something that no other Barrow manager achieved in nearly a half century of trying. The football world took notice of this and obviously he attracted interest as would any other outstanding performer on Barrow's books. That's the way the game works and gutting though it was that he moved to a bigger club, Ian Evatt and Barrow AFC have been very, very good for each other and we should celebrate that because at the time we never did.

See you all in the semi-mythical Fanzone!
We will follow the soccer, over land and sea...

In reality football is cruel.
Chesterfield did us a great service not giving him the job.
The guy is ambitious and if a bigger club than Bolton come along with more money he will go.
Fans seem to think that Managers and players owe a club loyalty in truth they are employees and if a better offer comes along they will go.
Evatt came did a job that no one else has managed, employees unlike fans are not attached to the club.
Not keen on him but he deserves respect for what he did for us.

Hope he’s on TV crying about his welcome again. Hostile id imagine.

Evatt, Atherton and Joel all deserve a great reception on there impending return on July 27.They were instrumental in taking us where many had tried but failed. Somewhere that many thought we would never return to. The football league. I for one am grateful and will applaud them when they return

I’m sure the little chavs of Holker street and a few grown up chavs will be ready with their hostile welcome for him. It’s done, over, move on. He got us back in the league whatever other stories surround him, whether true or false
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Give him a well deserved clap as he comes out; then just ignore him for the rest of the game and get behind Barrow. Simple

Hopefully not, without Evatt we would be fighting relegation in the national league at best.

Because of him we are playing league football and for that we owe him the respect he deserves for what he’s done for our club.
