Are we looking to bring in a Number 9 or not

Post by Jonty » Fri Aug 27, 2021 4:01 pm

Are we going to bring someone in before the window closes? This remains the big question. We have injuries, we are light up top. We need a number 9. Some delicious cross coming in from both sides, no one there.

Are we, don’t think much better and we relied on a player now gone , to score all the goals. We need a striker, I’ve always backed the chairman from day one, but we are 4 games in and have £250,000 in the coffers that we didn’t budget for, spend some and buy a [SwearFilter] striker , NOW!

Drat! MU just pipped us for Ronaldo, a Striker of sorts. We're only 100 miles further North than Manchester and £250K would have covered 4-days of his salary. If you snooze, you loose. ;)

I honestly don`t know on how you can say that , where`s the reasoning behind it ?

even if that were true if one gets injured we`re in big trouble because there`s no goal threat anywhere else on the pitch.

Who do you drop to the bench if a striker comes in Gordon or zanzala ? Gordon has the work rate of 2 men and zanza is a right handful ! It's easy saying buy a striker not so easy finding one .

Not every team has that no9 20+ goal scorer a lot of the teams in our league are the same , difference is other players chip in , we need our midfield and centre halfs to do just that it's not all about the strikers .

Definately short of a good striker, but they are hard to come by. I'm sure there's work going on behind the scenes........... I hope.

Listening to Cooper on Radio Cumbria tonight no signings appear imminent. He said if we got a couple in on loans in until January then in 4-6 weeks down the line we have all our injured players back we could have whole group of players not getting a game. That in itself creates problems but he said its something they are looking at.

It won’t be reet. We had one quality striker last year (Quigs) We have one quality striker this year (Zanzala) Sea and Gordon are ok but we need one more target man

In competitive games Zanzala has scored 2 in 4 matches matches still not 100% 1 game was a substitute appearance , Gordon 1 out off 3 matches absolute workhorse , Sea 2 out off 4 matches with most being him appearing as a sub from the bench so you are saying you want 4 strikers basically? Sea in less than an a month off league football is a goal away from matching Luke James entire goal haul last season.
