Stevenage FC (A)
Stevenage FC (A)
Probably our toughest away game of the season thus far.
1-1 with 170 bluebirds in attendance.

I still can’t understand why we agreed to play this on a Friday night, no consideration for the travelling support, and players getting home at ridiculous time.

Re: Stevenage FC (A)
Will be very tough. We started with some tough fixtures, more recently have played our fair share of lower league sides and now have two away games against sides with some of the best current form in the division.
After these two and possibly Swindon at home I think the league position will be a fair reflection of our match profile to date.
I also can't quite work out why this needed to be a Friday night fixture. It has been known for some time that should England win their Group at the WC, the next game would be played Sunday and not Saturday. It has very little logic to it other than to reduce the away support. Hopefully I shall be there.

I would think that the players are stopping overnight on Friday night, seeing as they are travelling down Friday morning and going to be resting in their hotel rooms on Friday afternoon.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 10:52 pm I still can’t understand why we agreed to play this on a Friday night, no consideration for the travelling support, and players getting home at ridiculous time.

Tough gig this one. Stevenage are full of confidence under Steve Evans.
Hoping for a decent game though - 1-1 for me.
Can't see many bluebirds making it, I will be there if my tickets ever flippin turn up.

Plenty of clubs playing tomorrow night or at lunchtime on Saturday; it was a contingency incase England played at 3pm on Saturday. Can’t do right for doing wrong sometimes, imagine the moaning if we hadn’t moved it and it clashed with England playingDesmond2-2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 10:52 pm I still can’t understand why we agreed to play this on a Friday night, no consideration for the travelling support, and players getting home at ridiculous time.

Majority of games in our league are kicking off at 3 on Saturday, as should we be.A friend of mine from Knebworth informed me weeks back that this fixture change was down to Steve Evans, a typical tactic by him, have us sat on a bus for hours, out of our normal Saturday routine. As for the England conundrum, I for one would watch Barrow over England, any day of the week.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 4:51 amPlenty of clubs playing tomorrow night or at lunchtime on Saturday; it was a contingency incase England played at 3pm on Saturday. Utter garbage. If Barrow wanted it on Saturday at 3.00pm they could have just said no to Stevenages request. Barrow are travelling Friday morning arriving at a pre-arranged hotel at lunchtime so the players can have some lunch some rest and sleep before the game.Peter wild spoke about it to BBC Radio cumbria as well as speaking about January transfer window.Link belowDesmond2-2 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 8:57 am

There are 5 games in League 2 kicking off at 3pm on Saturday. There are 8 games in League 2 not kicking off at 3pm on SaturdayDesmond2-2 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 8:57 amMajority of games in our league are kicking off at 3 on Saturday, as should we be.A friend of mine from Knebworth informed me weeks back that this fixture change was down to Steve Evans, a typical tactic by him, have us sat on a bus for hours, out of our normal Saturday routine. Re: Stevenage FC (A)
So (according to your friend) a manager can just simply ask for a fixture to be changed…? Not sure it works that way.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 8:57 amMajority of games in our league are kicking off at 3 on Saturday, as should we be.A friend of mine from Knebworth informed me weeks back that this fixture change was down to Steve Evans, a typical tactic by him, have us sat on a bus for hours, out of our normal Saturday routine. We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: Stevenage FC (A)
Not going to happen, but I'd love it if we could absolutely dissect our next two opponents.
No bubblewrap unpopped.
Re: Stevenage FC (A)
I always feel more confident when we play top teams rather than relegation candidates Stevenage 1-2 Barrow.
The kick off time is not going to change so it's pointless whining

Re: Stevenage FC (A)
Decembers fixtures are a tough set of games. Stevenage, Carlisle and Salford away with Swindon and Tranmere at home. It will be a good barometer as to where we are as a team in this seasons EFL2
Re: Stevenage FC (A)
Whether or not we get a result at Stevenage will depend on how the so called 'dark arts' of Evans's side are handled.
