Halloween Tifo Display- Fund Raising
We are helping a group of Barrow fans raise money for a display on Tuesday 31st October to “welcome” the old enemy from across the bay to Holker St.
We need to raise over £1k to create a hellish Halloween vision and fry these prawns!

No.
Things have moved on somewhat from when we last did anything. It's been quite carefully costed.
Thanks

These things are not cheap, I was surprised to see the costs of one at a recent game I saw at the home of German giants borussia mönchengladbach
All be it on a larger scale.

Yeah. But that's the Germans for ya! Too much attention to detail and not enough panache.boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 11:09 amThese things are not cheap, I was surprised to see the costs of one at a recent game I saw at the home of German giants borussia mönchengladbach

I welcome the forthcoming display. But a flag or two doesn't produce a noisy atmosphere. Up to the lads that sing to pump a bit of Rock 'N' Roll into proceedings. Some new chants please! I think we've all grown somewhat tired of the dreary: 'Whoa Barrrrrow' which seems to be the only song that's sang on the terrace these days. Newport's fans sang a mixture of songs/chants last Saturday as have fans of other clubs we've played this season. It'd be nice to hear a few more of our own instead of that one tiresome chant.
New songs, please, chaps. C'mon! Bring It On!

Morecambe have appointed some guy from scousepool as first team analyst. Be afraid on Halloween. Could make the shrimps as " giants" of league 2.

Re: Halloween Tifo Display- Fund Raising
The way they're playing they need more than an Analyst!
But I'm sure the magnificent support they'll bring to Holker Street will ignite the passion of their players
What was the tune we used to sing when they paid us a visit?
"You must have come on a skateboard, come on a skateboard"...
I remember when our RESERVE team used to play Morecambe's FIRST team in the old Lancashire Combination League. Due to the thoughts and memories of watching those games I still can't get the idea out of my head that they're still Non-League. Honestly.
And who can forget our visits to Morecambe's old ground, Christie Park? There was one occasion when a multitude of our young bloods were hanging off the cross bar at half time - which led to its collapse. I can' t remember if that game was allowed to carry on? And the evening when a young Barrow lad was pulled from the terraces and beaten to a pulp by four of their thuggish Stewards - yet when confronted by men of their own age, the cowardly Stewards backed off, followed by some very amusing chants from our fans behind the goal. Be afraid on Halloween? Of Morecambe? Nahhhh

It’s not too late if you want to help contribute to this display; https://bluebirdstrust.co.uk/product/fa ... Ux4TXWKALY
The display has been purchased but I’m sure all donations will help to relieve the burden on others. As it will be a sight to behold when Morecambe visit on the 31st October.

Re: Halloween Tifo Display- Fund Raising
I thought last nights display was spot on and really helped create a great atmosphere, similar to some of our away games. I think Dessi22 raised this point recently but I, and am sure plenty of others, would be willing to contribute a regular DD towards regular displays, both home and away. Is this a realistic request?
Re: Halloween Tifo Display- Fund Raising
Yep, kudos to the contributors and organisers who made it happen.
Looked great from over on the Main Stand and kick started a great atmosphere for the game. Crowd were up for it and it’s been a while since we had a good backing like that at home.

Looking over from the Ray Wilkie Stand I noticed a vacant space to the left of the Kelly's Heroes flag. I'd be nice to see a banner hanging from there too.
Better atmosphere from the Holker End last night than at recent home games too. I heard a few more different songs and chants being vocalised opposed to the dreary, boring, 'Whoooh, Barrow' which, I think is past its sell by date, now.

Yes great to hear some of the older chants. “All Bluebirds are Blue” in the last 5 mins. Not heard that for a while.

Did the organisers of the tifo include the blue flares in the planning?

Re: Halloween Tifo Display- Fund Raising
Ok we know what you mean.We all know they aren’t allowed, but it certainly added to the atmosphere. The raising of the Tifo and the blue flares, set the atmosphere from the off, well done everyone for keeping it up for the full 90.Sefton Aubergine wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 6:04 pmDid the organisers of the tifo include the blue flares in the planning?
