Where will we finish?
After the last few days things are looking much brighter!
The Super Computer has us in 7th position! ( Accrington and Newport being relegated).
I think top 10 ,tough start but I'd rather play decent teams early on !

Re: Where will we finish?
Totally depends on who we get in up front and injury free from pre season games. With a tough start in August if we can get a few points on board then who knows !

Re: Where will we finish?
Amazing what a.couple of signings will do to boost the confidence levels. I think you have to follow the belief in the Andy Whing theory that these are all types of player that he can work with and forge into better team players.
All our signings seem to have that potential quality and that may be a big plus in the development of the squad. I think we are probably dark horse material atm. But until we see it taking shape we will all be left wondering a bit.

Re: Where will we finish?
Be solid but as it stands no fire power or creativity so think will be mid table
Re: Where will we finish?
Looking solid in defence and midfield. I have a good feeling about the big lad up front as well.
Still short on numbers for a decent size squad though.
I'd say 10th or higher.

Re: Where will we finish?
If we can land a striker who can score 15 and a n other who can score 8-10 then we could be a top 7 side.
However, if we end up with strikers who return similar to Teford / Acquah / Garner then its lower mid table.

Re: Where will we finish?
Very much depends on if we can find that elusive striker. Currently, I’d say 12th. If we get a striker with something about them, then potentially 8th or higher.
Re: Where will we finish?
Anywhere outside the bottom two, and not looking over our shoulders from Christmas. Anything better than that will be a bonus for me.
Re: Where will we finish?
Agreed.
In terms of Accy and Newport going down it's hardly a stunning prediction but there's usually a surprise struggler. The last two seasons teams have gone straight through from League 1.
Re: Where will we finish?
The target has to be top 7.
We have had a squad capable of achieving that for the last two seasons but, for whatever reasons, they have failed to do so.

Re: Where will we finish?
I’ll never understand this “anything outside of the bottom two will be a bonus”, Certainly not now we’ve steadied our EFL status after a baptism of fire opening couple of seasons. I know we have limited resources but we need to set expectations higher than that. I think it’s a left over mindset from years of non league.
It may be a transitional season squad wise but shrewd transfer business, supportive owners and a manager who knows what he’s doing we should see steady progress.
End position will be down to if we can find someone who can hit the net

Re: Where will we finish?
Hitting the net has been our Achilles heal but it would be refreshing to have a squad that knows where the goal is and isn't afraid to have a go!Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Jun 28, 2025 12:45 pm I’ll never understand this “anything outside of the bottom two will be a bonus”, Certainly not now we’ve steadied our EFL status after a baptism of fire opening couple of seasons. Why not aim high? If I were in charge, that's exactly what my demands would be... Be the best! Gotta aim high or what's the point in even lacing yet boots??
If super computer says seventh? I would be asking my players to go for sixth or higher and why not?
Anyhow, can't wait for new season to start! Good feeling for this season.

I’m surprised Pedro hasn’t given his opinion yet!
