12 new signings
We’ve had 12 new signings over the summer . 11 will be available to us with Michael Adu Poku returning to Watford after picking up an injury. Full marks to everyone involved for making it possible. Seems to be more than usual. Does anyone know how it compares with other pre- seasons ?

We’re still short of a few given Wing wanted 2-4 more before Tom Barkhuizen signed . So hopefully we start well and the strengthening continues.

Re: 12 new signings
Well as a rule of thumb, I would suggest that a stable League 2 side would expect to turn over about a third of it squad each season including loanees. So if we’ve acquired 12 out of a squad of what 22/23 so far that tells you where we are. If you also believe that a couple of loanees may materialise in the near future it could mean our turnover since last season will be approaching 60%.
Most would argue that it far too big a change for the squad to be at its best by August. This is clearly one reason why few pundits fancy us currently. And they’d probably be right.

He has confirmed that we want two more but they will likely be towards the end of the monthblumooncrab wrote: ↑Fri Aug 01, 2025 4:10 pm We’re still short of a few given Wing wanted 2-4 more before Tom Barkhuizen signed . So hopefully we start well and the strengthening continues.
Wants to work with what we have over the next couple of weeks to see exactly where we are short and needs improving

I’d be having a look at a number of players on this list.

Still not sure where Barkhuizen fits in if we are sticking to the 5-3-1-1 formation tbh. If we are are sticking to that we are desperate for a proper right wing back, and obviously some pace up frontblumooncrab wrote: ↑Fri Aug 01, 2025 4:10 pm We’re still short of a few given Wing wanted 2-4 more before Tom Barkhuizen signed . Those players are there for a reason be it greed or the fact that most are simply too ify to handle. We have to trust those that make the decisions. If they get it wrong on their heads be it. I for one certainly doesn’t want Mazeed back in consideration. How about you Will?
Hakeeb Adelakun if the price was right. But I’m led to believe he is hungrier than a swarm of locust.
And it took me five goes to write his name

To be fair, Hakeeb Adelakun was the first one that came to mind for me. Connor Wood could potentially be an option at left back if we are persisting with Jackson at right back.

Haven’t seen anything as of yet. Hope he gets something soon as his career hasn’t even had the chance to start.

Really hope they aren’t panic signings just for the sake of it. Like a Charlie Kirk
