Danny Rose
Danny Rose
Do people think he will stay?
I don't think we've seen the best of him because he never got the service.
Hopefully the new players will do that but will he stay?
Seems the dross are hanging on like barnacles.

Re: Danny Rose
I think he will stay he is 33 is 6 months so probably want stability with only arriving 6 month ago unless a too good an offer comes in from a efl club who want a punt on him, we defo didn't see the best of him and he hasn't played non league in his career upto now either.

Re: Danny Rose
If we are serious about mounting a promotion challenge we need to be keeping players like Danny Rose
Re: Danny Rose
He is modelling the away kit so I would think he is staying otherwise we would of got another new signing to model it

When he signed a couple of Grimsby fans said his legs had gone after the injuries and they weren't wrong.Barrowfan92 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2026 10:39 pm He’s gone !!!!!

His agent has done wonders and gives us wages to use elsewhere.

Re: Danny Rose
We haven’t played to his strengths at all but he hasn’t looked the slightest bit interested either. Good riddance, another thief off the books. Fair play to his agent too, done well there
Re: Danny Rose
I thought he’d have been a big player for us this season at this level and having played for Murray previously but it was soon clear he wasn’t in his plans. We never saw the best of him he came into a poor team that arguably got worse.
He didn’t look particularly interested in pre-season mind and I’m guessing was on a decent wage, so hopefully it allows us to bring someone else in up top, someone with real pace to play off Cameron and Reid.
Good luck to him but as with virtually all of last seasons squad I don’t think anyone was fussed either way if he stayed or went. Wondering if Whitfield may be next as Murray also doesn’t seem to rate him.

Re: Danny Rose
It leaves us very short up top. It probably frees up a high wage which will be invested in a replacement but it needs to be an impressive signing. The guy training with us who was at Altrincham I believe isn't that
Re: Danny Rose
To me we've got rid of a player who we never fully utilised.
Unlike Barkhuizen he gave his all.
Obviously did not fit Murrays type of play
Let's hope we see a decent signing and not the ex Altrincham guy training with us.
We need a proper marquee signing and I don't mean a tent.

Re: Danny Rose
Dan Mooney - mainly plays right wing according to Dior Angus. I'm guessing he'll be signing plus 1 more (possibly on loan? now the EFL window has shut)kenny lowe fan club wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2026 11:37 pm It leaves us very short up top. Re: Danny Rose
I know a Grimsby supporter and he said when we signed him - you’ve grabbed yourself a good player there. He was also well liked by most Grimsby supporters - in my opinion he was a player we signed with a good reputation and never got the best out of through our style of play.
Not saying Whitfield is the player he was a couple of seasons ago but if Murray is going to persist with Cameron I’d be concerned who will be the player to put the crosses in if Ben is the next to go.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
