Adam, will this be how we get Barrow comms. when the season starts too? Obvs no ifollow anymore and, living away, I can't pick up on the wireless so any details on how to get the games much appreciated (I assume RC will broadcast still but, if only on the actual radio, I won't pick up here). Appreciate I may have missed info. on this elsewhere. Cheers.

No

During the season we will be on DAB+ and on the bbc sport website

I will try to post the link on here each game but it won’t always be possible with time etc

The AM antennas have now been switched off

Nice one - thanks Adam. So should be good to get in the BBC website (not sure how this DAB+ lark works, but sure I can work it out).

Yes you’ll be able to get all our games on the bbc sport website - this is not BBC Sounds. It’s the live commentaries page on the bbc sport website then you’d just click on bbc radio Cumbria barrow v whoever and you’ll get it

Or you can also ask your smart speakers to play bbc radio Cumbria barrow v whoever and that should get it as well

And this alone is why the BBC TV license is worth it.
BBC fantastic compared to any TV or Radio Stations abroad.

You need a radio that will receive DAB+ which in a lot of cases means buying a new radio. but make sure it will pick DAB+ and not just one with DAB only.

A change to my original plan for today - simply as I ain’t giving Elon Musk money to commentate on a friendly match

So I shall be going via Facebook Live again similar to last week

https://www.facebook.com/share/1ENXsrLR ... tid=wwXIfr

My profile can be found here - same times so around 5 minutes prior to each half - this week I won’t be flying solo as my regular summariser Craig Rutherford will be alongside me at Holker Street

On the face of it, a damn good result. We scored four goals! Wow! Look forward to reading reports from those who were at the game.

very entertaining game. 2-0 down at half-time. A lot of promising signs though, but then the 2nd half happened. Reid got played in on the edge of the box on 49 mins and finished well, before the key moment of the match on 51 mins - George Walker came on.... He came on to the right wing with Whitfield switching to the left to replace Ben Jackson. 3 mins later and Walker skinned to left back before putting over a beautiful cross that Whitfield met on the volley just beyond the far post and into the bottom corner from about 12 yards. On 73 mins Innes Cameron got the ball midway in the Mansfield half and played a beautiful ball out to the right to Walker who again left the defence for dead before cutting inside and smashing the ball past the keeper into the far corner. Mansfield made in 3-3 with 10 mins left - but Walker again got round the defence on 90 mins before the ball was laid back to Scott Smith to calmly collect and score from about 8 yards out. Walker is going to be a real threat this season.

I really enjoyed the match this afternoon and am so glad I went. Ok it was only a friendly and you shouldn’t read too much into it but the difference from last season was huge. First we seem to have more of a willingness to get forward and second the squad seems stronger in depth. There just seems more positivity around the whole place both on the field and in the ground. Onwards and upwards
