Genuine question was anyone surprised we had a player sent off last night ? Every match we’ve played this season I’ve thought it’s been a close call.

No it was a matter of time. MJ has history for silly red cards, Scott Smiths only consistency is getting booked each week even when not playing!

We commit so many fouls and a lot unnecessary and blatant, it was inevitable and suspensions will soon start racking up and hurting us.

We’re not even particularly competitive as the first part of last night showed where we struggled to get a foot in, we just give lots of needless fouls away.

I've a feeling that some of the players aren't comfortable with some of Murray's tactics unfortunately this is only going one way if we lose Saturday his time is done but some on here think that'll be a disaster no conference north would be an absolute nightmare and the gates would plummet and with such a reduced budget etc. next season , Paul Hornby will be praying we win Saturday because he'll know deep down this farce can't go on !

We’ve seen it all season & last week at home it was bordering on total stupidity, shirt pulling in the middle of the pitch, no goal threat at all.

Referees will be taking note of these “tactics” and we’ll end up with either a double yellow or yellows racking up to suspensions.

I personally don’t think he’ll change this, it looks like this is how he wants them to play so he’ll stupidly stick with it.

I seem to recall you and others saying the same last season that we needed to change manager (on multiple occassions) otherwise the disaster of the National League was inevitable. Well, here we are, have people learned nothing? You realise that we are in this position because we (board and fans) are so short sighted, we have no vision, no identity, no principles or model to work to. How are we supposed to even stabilise or establish a structure when we are changing tact every five minutes? The problem is far deeper rooted than Murray. It's astounding how many people don't understand or just completely ignore this.

Got to agree with the last post.
In reality we have been left behind as a club. Mr Hornby et al deserve plaudits for all they have done but look around us, look at where we were playing in L2 and now at the national league clubs, the vast majority have better/more infrastructure I'm afraid whilst better than we were, we are still somewhat stuck in the dark ages.
Football has moved on considerably and let's be honest costs a lot more money not just as owners but as supporters too.
The ground looks tired despite best efforts but more crucially its that lack of infrastructure. We have no youth team, no ladies team but also and probably most critical we dont have the money. I genuinely worry when I look at conf north/south where some teams have better set ups than ours. No wonder we have carthorses for players and try a punt when it comes to managers. Can someone win the euromillions please.

Harrogate as a club are in a much better position financially than we are.

Lancaster play at a lower level so investment wise it wouldn’t take as much money to invest in an NPL semi professional club than it would ourselves.

Added to the fact both access wise are much easier to get to and much more serviceable than Barrow

Sure I saw in an interview we were going to go bankrupt, until Shearer stepped in, just have to be very grateful to the guy for the few golden years we’ve had (Chelsea away, top of the league etc) Even with these ties to the states, as previously pointed out, the location is a sticking point.

The town itself has never been as prosperous with a full BAE order book the numbers working there rising and school leavers getting jobs for life
I don’t buy this location thing we are on the edge of the Lake District for goodness sake it attracts millions every year.
In our current set up financially and off the field with no youth set up we are slipping back into non league obscurity

A patched up stadium no youth set up no reserves no womens teams no local training base i agree there is teams with better set ups lower down the pyramid we never were ready for the efl and went up by default didnt feel like a promotion in the proper way we patched the ground up abit didnt push forward as a club spent all the money on players who took us down in the end we have never been a top national league side ever we have mainly been strugglers at this level apart from a couple of top 8 finishes mostly mid lower table or strugglers we spent most my life in conf north level and fair few seasons at national league but defo more at conf north the last 40 years id be open to a ground share both clubs only avarage around 2k fans each say 5k to 6k stadium would be ideal size as both grounds are dated now if both clubs could sell there grounds and build a joint venue that isnt council owned so the clubs take the food an drink revenue and no rents and they joint own it together then yes if grants are available they could use the stadiim for others uses make it more community based aswell

Then we need new leadership that isnt so blinkered and has tunnel vision as you cant keep patching a turd forever we need people with a vision for the club a 5 year plan what sort of football do we want to play to be attractive to the fans etc how can we grow as a club what more can be done for fan engagement why are our signings so poor is it down to the scout network who recruits these managers as been a shit show apart from evitt and wild since daz an dave days how can we improve the structure of the club what can be done what level do we really see ourselfs being at do we have aims for efl or without investment are we heading back conf north level or do we see ourselfs as a national league top half side
