Err, none if the match went ahead, but a wasted 30 minutes if it didn't. Is that OK?A.B. wrote:What's the difference in arriving 15 minutes earlier?

Re: Turnstiles
I am flying across from Belize on 13/14 September, I will be travelling on 15th September from Honiton (Devon) to Barrow for the game, - that might be a wasted trip, but who cares if the game is off I will spend an hour or so in the Crossbar before I get the 5:21 back, overnighting in Brimingham, but I am going to make it, going to take me a wee bit more than 15 minutes (also got my membership over a month ago on-line). LDBF = Long Distance Barrow Fan - have not got the new shirt(s), but then who has, have not heard a game of BB RC, but who has - BARROW till I diemajorjonnyd wrote:I didn't come at 3 because it was totally lashing down and I thought it might be called off at the last minute. Plus I live a 15 minute drive away and lots of the roads were flooded so I didn't want to waste a trip.

A TRUE Barrow supporter, might have to waste 30 minutes of his precious life - SHAME ON YOU - and everyone else who did not go cause it was raining, must all be re-located Southerners.
Not OK, not OK at all

I'm very pleased for you. Must be nice to have so much leisure time.LDBF wrote:I am flying across from Belize on 13/14 September, I will be travelling on 15th September from Honiton (Devon) to Barrow for the game, - that might be a wasted trip, but who cares if the game is off I will spend an hour or so in the Crossbar before I get the 5:21 back, overnighting in Brimingham, but I am going to make it, going to take me a wee bit more than 15 minutes (also got my membership over a month ago on-line). I was merely reiterating the point made by many on this forum that the club is losing out on revenue due to poor planning. That point made, I'll leave you to it.
Re: Turnstiles
Jonnyd- For next time- If you decide to wait and see if the game is going ahead and get to the ground at 3:15- Make your way around to the Crossbar End and you'll get in through that entrance.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Re: Turnstiles
Don't really understand that. I, as many didn't really know whether the match was on or not but still got there on time. Going fifteen minutes late JUST in case the match was off doesn't make sense to me.majorjonnyd wrote:Err, none if the match went ahead, but a wasted 30 minutes if it didn't. I do though agree with your point about the turnstiles.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Much appreciated. Thanks. Some people are a bit militant on here these days, aren't they?Jonty wrote:Jonnyd- For next time- If you decide to wait and see if the game is going ahead and get to the ground at 3:15- Make your way around to the Crossbar End and you'll get in through that entrance.

Re: Turnstiles
Agree, very poor planning by the club, fancy arranging for it to rain!?!. More than once over the years have I heard on this forum of those wanting to see the games arriving late go to the Crossbar for entry- not exactly rocket science is it? No doubt I will see you at the game on 15th September (if it is not raining of course), my first vacation in 18 years apart from my 36 hours in London when I was Glory Hunting in May 2010, yes I think I might of earned this "leisure" timemajorjonnyd wrote:I'm very pleased for you.
