Why was it called off ? the pitch was deemed playable yesterday ,unless there was a lot of rain or snow then it seems strange.

Apparently due to sleet and snow this morning. http://www.gateshead-fc.com/4331/gatesh ... -match-off

Seem to remember the third round replay on a Tuesday night at Gateshead in 2010 where it snowed during the afternoon, early evening and most of the way through the match, and it all went ahead without any issues. Would have hoped the similar conditions would have led to a win today :flag:

Tinpot or what? Wonder if we have incurred more costs due to this?

Match referee is suppose to have said that he cannot see that pitch being fit to play on for 5 or 6 weeks., so not much chance for Tuesday or even the following week.

The ISC bus got to Barnard Castle before we found out, we're all now watching Kendal v Marine.

Yes, Jonah is on the bench and Mike Rushton is playing for Kendal.
He's just scored now.

We were in hartlepool at 10.15 this morning, no rain or snow and the a1 just a few miles from Gateshead was absolutely bone dry.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but it does seem very fishy to me.

Just had a look at a few on-line web cams in Newcastle/Gateshead area but unable to tell if it has been snowing as it is currently too dark in most of them. It looks like they have breaks in the cloud cover though. Pictures from the tyne tunnel approaches are fairly clear to see and is close to Gateshead. They don't show settled snow, but they might have a smattering of sleet, difficult to tell. If they have it, it is not sticking from looking at those pictures.

Forecast for Gateshead on Tuesday does not look good, at the moment a replay will likely be frozen off.

The temperature in Gateshead between now and Tuesday is barely going to be above freezing according to Met Office. From the early hours of Monday morning it will be freezing or below and it will stay that way till the match on Tuesday when it gets even colder. Lots of snow expected on Monday.

If it does not go ahead on Tuesday which of our games next week will be affected? Our games from next Saturday...
Saturday Newport (Away)
Tuesday Stockport (Home)
Saturday Dartford (Away)
Tuesday Macclesfield (Home)
I guessing that the Newport or Stockport game would be moved, hopefully the Newport game, but probably the Stockport game which puts back our next home match. :(

I wouldn't have thpught the game was off for one minute Andy, in fact I was getting frustrated listening to Workingscum on the radio on way back, hoping to get updates fro Gateshead.

No weather on our trip, looked like it had rained a tad on way back along A 66, loads of blue sky. Whilst we weren't actually in Gateshead at the time when we turned off the A1 this morning we were only a handfull of miles away from Gateshead (approx 8) and the roads were bone dry.

By the looks of it the 'improvements' they did in the summer are to blame:
