Live in Durham. Was in Newcastle when match was postponed. Has only been light drizzle since 4pm yesterday. Absolute joke
Re: Gateshead v Barrow
Andy Wood said on RC that it started to rain soon after he left Carlisle this morning and it never stopped till he got to Gateshead, He also said thay Gateshead were looking at other stadiums to play their home matches, Blyth Spartans and Newcastle RU gouund were two mentioned but this was unlikely to be in place before Tuesday.

Re: Gateshead v Barrow
I'd guess we have, if so then Gateshead would have to pay us expenses as they called the game off after we'd set off, the FA rules say what expenses we're entitled to in this situation.jim wrote:Tinpot or what? Wonder if we have incurred more costs due to this?
No, that was a tinpot rule made up by the Lancs FA for their competition a few seasons ago.Barrow Bluebirds wrote:If it is called off two more times is it moved to Holker Street?
Re: Gateshead v Barrow
Apparently the pitch was virtually under water and was probably never playable.
Worse news though, is that the game doesn't get played this Tuesday night, it will supersede our scheduled home game against Stockport the following Tuesday.

Re: Gateshead v Barrow
When we arrived in gateshead it wasn't raining - all the stewards were getting ready and the barrow team had arrived. I can't believe the pitch was underwater because there was no rain.
Hope they can find a solution or even switch it to Barrow now
We went to watch Sunderland and they had the sprinklers turned on so I'm guessing the rain can't have been that heavy.

Talk about circumstances working against you!
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Gateshead v Barrow
Priorities seem strange in that the Lancashire Trophy > FA TrophyReg wrote:Worse news though, is that the game doesn't get played this Tuesday night, it will supersede our scheduled home game against Stockport the following Tuesday.
Also Saturday League games > FA Trophy > Tuesday League games
Another issue is that Dartford won their Trophy game so our league game there in 2 weeks is off in because of their Trophy progress.
Gateshead v Barrow
presumably, we can arrange a home game to replace the Dartford one.John Very Little wrote:Priorities seem strange in that the Lancashire Trophy > FA TrophyReg wrote:Worse news though, is that the game doesn't get played this Tuesday night, it will supersede our scheduled home game against Stockport the following Tuesday.

Re: Gateshead v Barrow
Find it strange according to BAFC Official website game off and posted at 12.00, but Gateshead states game called off at 1pm after heavy rain!!!!
I travelled on ISC bus and didnt see any rain on way of journey to Barnard Castle...
Hope game does go ahead asap and doesnt add to our already messed up league fixtures which will now possibly include Tues night trip to Dartford now
