We've asked a couple of companies for quotes for a structure that could be built in 20 metre sections & added to as time & funding go on but that's all it was - just quotes.

It's not beyond reason to possibily do something like that in the future though.

Good day down there again & a 7:30am start in the gorgeous early morning sun.

Whitty (the 1969 one) helped carry a load of cladding sheet over to us & then went off to fix some light Elaine wanted doing (Elaine has now collared 1969 as her personal odd jobber  )

Big Al was doing his best to fix the plumbing in one of the porta loo's - not the best of job's on a day like today.....or anytime!

Kluas Moogintal was putting a coat of paint on the new doors on the disabled area, they really look the part now (Mrssenorita has made a cracking job of them) & hopefully will provide a bit of shelter for those that use it in the winter.

Exile & Bahamas Bluebird took down all the sinage at the cross bar end & were still painting the wall as we left, the signs will start to go back up when we find out which ones are still being paid for & this time on a level line.

Myself, Mrssenorita, Peter Nichols & Steve carried on with the cladding, we just ran out of time with about six sheets to go. A bit more messing around than we thought really as the terracing raises about 50mm so we had to start taking that amount off the bottoms of each sheet.

Whitty 1969's Daughter was busy putting all the little caps on the whizzer screws - good job out of the way.

Elaine was scrubbing again in the dressing rooms, I swear on it, they're cleaner than an A&E department, she wasn't happy that I wanted to use a urinal for what it's meant for

A thank you to Exile again as we never had any kitchen base units donated so he went & bought two for us this morning.

Everything going very nicely :D

Hope I havent missed anyone out.

Ian do you have toilets in your house as Mrs spirit came down and used the ladies too?

Whitty re-sited the ceiling light to get maximum illumination from the position it was in and repaired it too. Thanks to Exile for paying for two new toilet seats for Whitty to fix. Two new sink units as well makes us very grateful for his generosity. A kind benefactor is something we are not used to.

Ian, Whitty said I have to make a list of the jobs I want doing so stop being so jealous---you have Mrssenorita for yourself. Whitty's little girl works hard and was busy hoovering up after her dad amongst her other tasks.

I have cleaned the pipes round the away showers and they are gleaming like burnished gold. As Les said when he saw it "bloody hell fire" Hahahaha. Physio bench scrubbed and ready to take back to the First Aid room but it weighs a ton.

I will be handing the changing room/shower room areas back to the paid cleaner when the season starts but she will be getting them back in a better condition than I think they have been in for many a year. Especially when the home one gets it's make over but I will still always prefer the away facilities.

Now for that Treatment room---tomorrow!!!!! :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Jesus, Don't fight over me ! Just happy to help.
On the subject of help, I was only coming down for an hour today to replace the light fitting. Ended up staying over 3 hours !!!!
Think i've gone from lower half to a play-off spot in the divorce league table :D

Would like to thank Exile. Met him today. What a top bloke he is. He is chuffed to bits with all the work we have done.
I told him it was down to his generosity.
His reply. "Giving money is the easy bit, doing the work and putting in the hours is the hard bit"
So a reminder to all, Please get on board and help. A dozen painters today would of really helped.

Elaine, Think Whitty 64 will help with your remaining jobs on Tuesday night before the game. Don't forget the mirror that whitty64 broke.... I mean me!!!!!!!!!

Stop being so bossy Whitty69. You will get the mirror when I get my pension and I haven't got a car to run around in---free bus pass.
Not only does Exile fund the equipment but he is also there on a Sunday helping with the physical work too so he is a very modest man.
I wonder of he is married?

Just a thought about the newly refurbished disabled area, now that such a good job has been done to improve this facility, how about inviting sponsorship of the said area.I am sure there would be a company or organisation out there that would be happy to be associated with the improved facility and pay an annual fee to have their name /logo attached to the structure. ;)

Could do with a few volunteers to do a spot of painting tomorrow evening, it'll only be the pitch perimiter wall's so you don't need to be a time served painter.
We're hoping to get the last bit of the new cladding finished tomorrow so it'll all be done for our next home game.

Another job that someone could take on as a bit of a project would be rebuilding the box on top of our trailer that was donated to us.
There's no rush on this, you could just have access to the M A whenever you have time, we'll obviously buy the materials you just knock it together.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

I know the skip needs emptying and I spoke to them today.
They have tried last week but there was no-one about despite the place being wide open.
Surprised? No, me neither.
They'll try again.

Trevor if the place was wide open then Les and me were there. We leave the double gates open so people know someone is there. We are there from 10 until 1 while Suzanne is off. We lock everything up when we leave.
